I also recommend theOrangeDoom, he's unlocked and spaded (unlocking all upgrades for a vehicle) every normal and most premium tank/plane in the game.
join a squadron instead.dont rely on youtube to teach you.
If you watch Dart's videos, you could possibly get a good idea of what to start doing.

His videos are about IL-2 Sturmovik and from a Sim POV, but could still be a good help.

Long story short, over time, videos might not be everything over time you'll have to just play a lot to eventually understand how to approach situations. Best I can say is knowing where to shoot. For a bomber it's usually the wing. The other part is knowing how to choose the right belts. API-T for MGs have been pretty popular as it increases the chance of a fire, whereas for cannons can work differently, but also suffer from various issues involving speed.

check out Napalmratte

He does very good tank reviews and compare them. He also covers airplanes and show how you can make them work.

theOrangeDoom, Napalmratte, McChickenBites (doesn't really do tutorial videos often but you can watch his play style), they're all pretty good.

Thats what i have trouble with as well i just always use the default because when i look at the stats of each belt type they almost have all the same specs. I will primarilary use bf109s, zeros and spitfighters as that all im interested in is dogfighting and playing as fighter aircraft. dont care about being anything else really.

I got some very small channels for you but all of them are really educational. Manouvers are explained much more in detail why they work how to perform them when to pulll them of etc.
Some Clips are Messerschmitt Level. And they wont show you their best games lots times you will watch matches where they are in big trouble and how they get out of it.

Broman is an really interesting Pilot he is an specialist in the P47 not many master this thing
if you want to know how to outenergy fight a g55 with an big altitude advantage in a p47

Green Fury maybe the best channel for you great tactics for Beginners and Aces. he is the most active.

My advice: DONT LOOK AT YT FOR HELP IN THIS. I was horrible at aiming too but i played alot and slowly got better. (also only play ab for practice and get 40m or closer before opening fire I usually rip people apart by doing this also people dont realise i am behind them until its too late. Also aim at the little circle that is infront of the plane thats where you need to shoot to hit them).

ive been watching all these videos and trying all these tactics and i keep getting shot down with ease by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ww1 planes. I dont know what to do. everyone is a good shot and just shoots me down in one volley. leaving me with no time to react to anything. it sucks. i feel useless haha

Tactics don't apply too well to really low tier aircraft. A lot of what makes a good player comes with practice as well, it took me over 1000 hours to feel confident that I'll be able to win in any aircraft I fly. Your aim, judgement and situational awareness aren't things that can really be taught, you learn them over time and they really are the key to success. Knowing the limitations of your enemy's and your own plane is something that can be read off a stat card but utilising that knowledge is another thing all together as well.

Just practice practice practice with energy fighters and eventually it will click and you'll start to really enjoy playing them. Break up that practice with periods of using more forgiving planes like the Yaks and Spitfires.

In tier 1, all you have to do is turn fight and you'll be good. Although I don't recommend turn fights against I-15s. In late tier 2/tier3 is where you have to be a bit more smart. Don't feel discouraged if you feel useless, you'll learn eventually. Hell, I have over 1,000 hours in this game and I'm still learning stuff about air combat (I have a terrible tendency to turn fight in any plane I fly).

Don't bother with the mainstream youtubers they're generally just average.

Messer is the only one worth watching for planes. You typically see the full battle and he's often engaged with multiple people, as opposed to cherry-picked engagements.
