Why is this game so awful?

I do not know the names of the maps. I have not played for over a year. I just decided to give this awful game another try.

It is as bad as I remember....

Examples
I am in a Tiger, behind buildings I have arty dropped on me. Twice. ??? By another Tiger?
Arty misses. Twice.
Arty finishes....
A shell from the sky after ten or more seconds drops from nowhere and tracks me. Wait for repairs.
Move again. Tiger behind a wall that I cannot hit, tracks me and then kills me.

Fast Russian tier two. Get "shot" while in water. No one around.

Am on a field behind a building. A "plane" drops a bomb. I move I get tracked and killed.

I have three fast Russian tier twos. I have lost count of the times "arty" appears from nowhere and drops on me somewhere I have not be seen.
Ditto Art drops on me at spawn OFTEN.

As for the amount of teams I get dropped into that only go to one of the three points.. it is crazy. And it is increasing....

The list is very long.
Getting shot out of nowhere.
Getting shot by tanks that you cannot see or hit".
Being bombed almost every game by strange aircraft.
Aircraft from nowehere crashing into you and killing you.
Being put into games (well) out of your "tier"



I am not that good a player!
I took a year off because the "planes" kept killing me from nowhere.
The amount of times a plane would crash into me a kill or damage me was beyond stupid! The game became unplayable.

I just played at the weekend for the first time in a year or so.
The game has already started crashing planes into me from nowhere...

I'm guessing that the guys who took you out of no where, bombed you, and crashed into you are singing the praises of the game.... there is always the flip side of the coin. If you cannot devote time to improve your game, have you considered trying Pac Man?

I am saying that the game is full of bots from the game side.
And that when you start winning the game kills you. Often!!

Sorry about some of the " git gud" comments ive seen.
It can be confusing once youve come back, so heres the thing.

Matches are based off of BR, not tier, and if you dont remember brs have changed, and different mode selected=different brs.

Planes dont kill you from nowhere, in AB you get them for getting kills, in RB you get them for capping and killing to get points, and in SB, you get 1 air spawn, any time you want.

Yes there are strange aircraft, after your time away italy was added, along with many interesting and odd vehicles.

Remember shell velocity and Binoculars are a thing, if your killed from above a hill, he used his 3rd person or binocs. (Some buildings can be shot through, beware)

The arty hitting you is luck, they, like i, fired artillery at a random location, and you happened to be there.

Planes carry bombs, yes. Depends which bomb it was. 100lb, no way, 5k kilo, garunteed.

I think you're finding that people do not have a lot of sympathy for you, because in some cases it sounds like you bring the misfortune onto yourself, and in other cases, it happens to everyone.

I think that most people here are leaning towards the "Git Gud" reply, but because you just took a year off, self admitted that you aren't a good player, and are already extremely flustered.... that probably won't be well recieved either.

Everyone gets put onto "bad" teams. If you want to increase the probability of winning, squad with friends.

You can't get "shot out of nowhere"; either someone was watching you and blew you away, or you got caught out and they plowed one into your side; typically a result of poor situational awareness.

Getting shot by tanks you can't see... while possible, you might want to fiddle with your settings.

Being bombed every game.... Don't sit in the open?

Tier is not a deciding factor in MM.

Also know that if you kill them, they can spawn into another vehicle (with arty) and artillery your last known position.

The rationale behind the OP's disilusionment is likely quite familiar to all players and happens all the time,... I know me for sure. It would be quite rare to escape a battle without getting nicked in one form or another unless the match maker has been very kind.

Literally. The opposing team will be losing and they will not have many players left.
Suddenly, plane from nowhere crashes into me and kills me.

Na. I am on about being shot through brick buildings that I cannot penetrate with and IS 1

Arty hitting me is luck yes.
Why do I get arty , when in very random positions.
I HAVE experimented and will be hiding in some obscure place in a game and "arty". I move some random place, not near the enemy and... "arty". I get killed and at at spawn "arty"...

Bombs and planes I have no problem with.
Planes that do not fly around and all they do is crashes into you and kill you when you are in pr behind buildings?

Heck I do not mind being killed or "nicked".

I use no cheats and would not care to install them if I knew how.

What I am on about is when you cream the game. You win! You kill 11 of theirs with shadow kills in a big fat heavy.
You move around and do not stay still and then..... A "plane' crashes into you and kills an unmarked Tiger.
Happened once already today.
Six shadow kills. Close up. I ran off moved around the map. I was moving behind a church. No one cloud have picked me out and followed me. So it was NOT one of those I killed.
I was in an alley behind a church between buildings with buildings behind me and a "Mosquito" did not shoot me.
It somehow flew through the building and crashed into an un hit Tiger and killed me.

THAT is what I am on about.

I would say about one game in 7 is playable. The rest, you get killed in all three live for "no reason".

B.R (Battle Rating) The number in the bottom right of the planes icon iirc. (Numbers range from 1.0-8.3 Tanks and 1.0-9.0 planes)

Also, if there are open windows in the building, they can fire through those as well.

(And if in RB, usually the last players go into aircraft if they can, as a last ditch effort to kill tanks or remove enemy Close Air Support)

Getting "shot" out of nowhere is what I am on about.
Be "hiding". Get shot. Behind a building. At the back of the fight. Behind all the team. And... get shot.
And lose a crew member.

I don't THAT is my issue.

I HIDE. A LOT. I have not played for year because it was not worth playing.
I have been playing two days. And it has started already.

I used to play a lot. I have a lot of free time sometimes.
I played every day. All day.
And started to get killed for no reason. A LOT.

So I stopped for a year or so.
Now. I play a couple of good games and "it" has started again.

Those that say I should "get good". That is exactly the problem.

It seems that I am not as bad as everyone else and am now being killed by the game for "no reason".

There is allways reason, its pretty much luck if they bomb you or somebody else, even hiding they can see you at times, such as in trees, knock 1 down when hes looking in your direction- bombed. Fire gun- bombed.

Getting shot from nowhere can mean a lot of things, whered you get hit, was that area exposed above terrain, or were you outflanked?

No.

I would go more for this is bad algorithms. You do "too well" and the "game" starts to kill you for no reason.
Not the payers.
I had a game earlier today.
I has already been on a couple of winning teams. Next game.... I get killed twice in "yeah right" circumstances.
Then I am in water below height of everybody and boom. Head shot.


Like I say.
Today. I was in an unmarked Tiger when a "plane" crashed into me.

I had just had six shadow kills, went on to get eleven shadow kills but. After the first six. I was killed by a plane, down and alley behind buildings.

This is why I stopped paying a year ago.
If you do too well. the game starts to wipe you out!

I did pay for the game a years ago. But then... whats the point of paying for an account if you cannot play more than two or three games in row?
