Churchill Mk 1 at 3.3 is a joke.
So, after trying to level this thing, I have to say, at 3.3 this is probably one of the worst tanks in the game. The 40mm 2pdr is ok against lower tier tanks, but at 3.3 the Churchill Mk 1 is facing T-34s and even more laughably, the Kv-1. Neither of which is vunerable to the 2pdr except from point blank.

Yes, you CAN penetrate the T-34 from the sides. But the Churchill is so slow, its hard to get there to do so. The 76mm is HE only, so its great against AAA but not much else. Its ballistic arc is substantial, so trying to arc a shot to get under a tank is challenging.

The armor is decent, but the its brutally slow, and horribly undergunned for a 3.3. Cant think of why this would have been put in 3.3. The similarly armed Matilida is a 3.0 Curious why this would supposedly be better.

This tank is a pain to play with, but with some luck I once killed a kv1's gunner and I still dont know how I managed to do that...

correct
I was so happy when I got the ammo upgrade on my Chur I, then I realised it was for the small gun. Sad.

It also used to easily cross anti-tank ditches and surprise the Germans with the places it could get to, along with the later models being all but immune to Panzer IVs, the majority of the German tanks, they were actually decent tanks, especially for what they were designed for.

Not great as a tank on tank weapon though, and that's why they aren't particularly good in game (along with what feels like a nerfed climbing capacity, IIRC it was about 40 degrees IRL)

face tiger, panther and IS-2 with Churchill MK VII and come back with a better argument.

Those are all above it's BR, try fighting KV-1 ZIS-5s, T34-57s, 8.8cm Flak bus, PzIV long barrels and Chi-To in the churchill MK I for a better comparrisson with what you are saying.
