It also used to easily cross anti-tank ditches and surprise the Germans with the places it could get to, along with the later models being all but immune to Panzer IVs, the majority of the German tanks, they were actually decent tanks, especially for what they were designed for.
Not great as a tank on tank weapon though, and that's why they aren't particularly good in game (along with what feels like a nerfed climbing capacity, IIRC it was about 40 degrees IRL)
Those are all above it's BR, try fighting KV-1 ZIS-5s, T34-57s, 8.8cm Flak bus, PzIV long barrels and Chi-To in the churchill MK I for a better comparrisson with what you are saying.
