OBS cant record War Thunder?
Im trying to record a funny moment to put on my yt channel, but i cant use fraps with war thunder as im not on the best of systems, OBS is my only real option, however when i try to record the game, it just records a black screen with no sound but it picks up my mic. Anyone have any idea what the issue is?

Laptop or desktop? If it's a lappy you will have to go into windowed mode to record any application/game; desktop you may have to add a line in the config.blk file. "Hooks:b=yes" without the quotes ofc. Also if you are running rivatunerserver or MSI afterburner disable them; WT and OBS especially dont play nice with them.

If you have a lappy and windowed won't work then you are SOL.

Do try this, actually. It's possible whatever you're using to view the recording doesn't support the video codecs, I recommend VLC Media Player. Is the thumbnail black too?

You guys do realise he is just seeing the preview of OBS and what it's recording right? OBS is recording a black screen; changing players won't help. (Though VLC is freaking awesome sauce)

I've never used it, does it have an overlay or something? I use ShadowPlay to record my games.

OBS and war thunder work perfectly.

Try to transform the video source

Right click on it, Transform > fit to screen. Bam done you are welcome.

I had the same issue as many others when starting.

If i run normally, OBS will just record a black screen as you said, admin mode fixed it for me. Ifyou already run it in it then i am not sure. How is the scene and source settings?

There is no In Game Overlay; which is actually a plus for me since many older games just don't like them. http://imgur.com/a/Ydqaz

That image should show what OBS working properly looks like.
