What does the radiator do in tanks?

If not, how does it effect the enemy tanks when you destroy it?

I was shooting with the m8. I'm too tired to look back at all my replays to find it right now, but trust me, the engine was right behind the radiator. I think it was a japanese tank destroyer.

Ho-Ro has no radiator.
Ho-Ro I has no radiator.
Ho-Ni III has no radiator.
Na-to it's at the front not rear.

the radiator cools down the engine coolant liquid the engine uses to lower temperature, so no, damage to it wont start a fire

Edit: btw that coolant is usually water or a mixture of water and antifreeze

Just looked back, turns out it was german. It was the Pz. 3 F. So I got blocked by both the radiator and fuel tank.
I was using heat.

radiator is left and right rear with engine dead center. fuel tank is right side past radiator. You really cant expect heat to be effective shot (ie kill crew from way explained) but isnt unreasonable to hit the engine center if you were at the rear. on angle however the engine is protected by them and they would counter heat rounds. `imo seems unfair you didnt set him on fire through.... better luck next time.

Guess that's what happened. I'm guessing the fuel tank can start a fire if destroyed?

If you like m8, get the pz iv e .... you will love it's heat rounds and shoot like 3.5 seconds and rated 2.0... it's true death machine.
