I want to grind out jets, but I don't know which to choose from. I am a regular pilot, skill level isn't the best. I own no premiums for either USA or USSR. I can shoot cannons, and know trigger control, but I don't know which to grind. I am going into rank IV american aircraft.

they both have there strengh and weakneses so youl have yo see which one suits your play style more

Grind out Germany, get the CL-13 which is the best Sabre as well as the MiG-15bis which is almost a MiG-17. Otherwise I would say the 17 but that is my personal preference they fly differently and which one you will like more depends on how you like to play. I find the MiG to be more interesting as it has greater acceleration, smaller size and it's deadly in the vertical.

It's ironic how an export version of the sabre is better than the actual one.

Also its just ust a Canadian lisence built Sabre. Not exactly an export version.

That was also the case with the Australian CAC Sabre, with the twin 30mm cannons and Avon engine. It probably would have been a more balanced addition to the British tree than the hunter... but that would be boring I guess. Everyone would be flying Sabres.

At current rates every nato country will be flying f35s by the end of the decade
My point is I dont see a problem with everyone flying one plane.ik this game isnt supposed to be realistic in the historical sense, but sabres would have been exported to many different countries, so it kinda would make sense for the top tier jets in US, german, UK and ♥♥♥ tech trees to be sabres. But yea RB would just be sabres vs migs... BORING

I remember when RB top tier WAS just sabres and migs.... those were... some of the best times ever had in war thunder... ;~;

No it was great! Top tier was the best because everyone knew everyone and there were MiG people and Sabre people. MiG clans (KLAN/SNJ etc), Sabre clans (BRS/SRN etc) and the average skill level was so high. It honestly was a better time, the game was much more fun back then and the community was really tight. MiG vs Sabre was perfectly balanced and the games were awesome. These days there are a million different planes, including jet bombers and so many people have jets that the skill level has sipped to some extent.

But anyway this is off-topic.

Well the MiG has two 23mm and one 37mm and they do take a bit of skill to use because low muzzle velocity. The Sabre F2 has 4 x fast firing 20mm cannon which is easier to use but currently does less damage because gaijin can't sort out their hit detection.

Heh hit reg is bad in everygame, no matter wat devs do to servers, there will always be bad hit detection. The hit boxes in war thunder compared to most games (csgo cod battlefield) is actually good. There will be latency between u and the server, so u just kinda learn to compensate for it.

Ps i prefer low velocity high calibre rounds for air RB.

Sabre is more forgiving due to the faster bullets and the better ammo supply.
