The B-29 we have was only capable of carrying conventional bombs; many people seem to think the modifications were minor to allow the first atomic bombs to be dropped.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverplate
This is not the case; all defensive arms and armor were stripped. Along with a deep concrete pit at the airfield being needed to even load the bomb; this means not only the specific aircraft was needed but only specific airfields could maintain and arm them.
So the B-29 that was capable of delivering the first atom bombs is NOT in WT; even so the bombload of the B-36 for conventional arms is around 100,000 LBS. The "Big belly" modification for the modern B-52 only allowed it to carry 80,000 LBS (Rotary launchers restrict the payload).
This means that a single bomber could carry a payload capable of ending a game several times over; along with the sheer ability of the thing to climb to the edge of space and matain speed makes it nearly immune to interception by the current top tier WT jets.
Adding aircraft such as the Tu-95,B-52,B-36 would completely and totally destroy balance at top tiers; air AB,RB along with SB would need a complete rework to support them. No airfields in the current game are large enough to land them; even more of an issue is GER,JPN and ITA (France when added as well).
These nations never developed and fielded comparable bombers; due to economics of scale or simply restrictions imposed by their conquerers. Meaning only US,GB and RU would have end game strategic bombers.
Basically maps would need to get MUCH larger; battle times would need to DRASTICALLY increase. Actual strategic targets such as cities and factories would need to be added; airfields would need to become larger. And at the very least first generation radar (Semi-guided) missiles would have to be added for anyone to stand a chance.
It's not just that they carry H-bombs; it's that these planes represent a jump as large as the first all-composite MBT's in terms of balancing and game design.
B-25s are overtiered with the lack of rockets and crap performance, B-17E(G)/B-24D/PB4Y-2 are food, and til the B-29, all of them are pretty defenseless and worthless at BR.
Not to mention the B-18A as the outstanding civ-transport converted plane without a proper tail gunner.
