Since when does "investment" into a game have anything to do with fun factor? I had most of the premiums and end-game tanks in WoT... I got bored eventually... now I have most of the Premiums in this game. Different games with different approaches to the same basic thing. If I wanted a mecha-based game, I would check-out a mecha-based game.
Yes, I do think it would be cool to have all of those cool alternative modes and vehicles in Custom Games that maybe reward some sort of stickers or titles, though.
Its pretty simple. Both games have tanks. I have bigger better tanks in WoTs. If War Thunder were to offer something no other game had like DUST walkers then i could see investing time and cash into it. But why would i play another tank game when Im playing one now that i have invested alot of time in. Logic, I know sucks sometimes.
*shrugs* Meh.
Why?... because they are different games with different mechanics. Maps are structured differently and of varying sizes, objectives are slightly different, damage models are vastly different (no "normalization" in War Thunder, and over-all more realistic), 2 different graphics engines = different graphic effects, and the WT community tends to be less toxic... you won't be called a "noob" in chat every round even if you are one, which allows players to actually learn how to play instead of constantly being insulted every other match.
I put hundreds of hours into WoT, I was part of several top Clans, and even competed and won in a several events/tournaments.
I mean, I don't know, I have just about every tank down every research tree in WoT (with the exception of Japanese, which were added much later), and I'm now here, grinding my way up through Tier 1-3 in all nations. Why do I do it? Could "fun" have anything to do with it?
Mind you, I'm not saying anything bad about WoT (obviously I liked it, minus the community), but it's not very logical to have the deciding factor be if fictional mechs (or spherical moon tanks) are a part of the every day game experience of either WWI semi-historical game. Just my 2 cents.
