Realistic for ground battles is a must, a lot of tanks depends of it (like flankers).
I only play planes in low tiers though because anything above 2.3 or so is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where everything becomes a supreme e-fighter. At low tiers, planes have more well-defined strengths and weaknesses and the armament isn't as good.
RB isn't that great in my opinion, I have no idea why people play it, I play mostly Arcade because I'm getting around 7-9k rp per battle while on Realistic I only get 3-5k rp. However I also play simulator battles as I find those much more fun that realistic battles, but it all depends on your opinion.
the RB bonus, gun realism(except for sparking), the better teams usually
ive been able to grind tier 3 for americans and brits in 1 school week each
switch to RB before u get used to lead markers
For air, arcade allows lots of spawning and fast paced action. Realistic makes you play a bit more thoughtfully and outmaneuver your enemy. Personally I prefer arcade as realistic planes just goes too slow and is just a climbfest.
For ground forces though, arcade is just a joke to me. You get 3 spawns regardless of what you spawn in so people bias tanks thy feel are 'better' a bit more, the planes are free and can suicide with no real penalty to gurantee rocket/bomb hits. Everyone has their username floating above them so tanks meant for flanking, ambushing or hiding are less relevant and tanks that can take hits and be more int he open thrive. And the little pen marke feels like it should be a tutorial thing and is not fit for active gameplay.
RB for ground allows every tank to more properly play to its strengths, keeps planes til midgame and makes them actually matter if you die and the way the spawn points (SP) work, it actually can reward you for keeping 'weaker' or lower BR tanks in your lineup because the cost is generally lower on them so you can guarntee that extra spawn even if its a tank that is a bit lower BR than your others.
RB Planes = Godlike
