He 100 with incorrect armament

Ingame this thing has 3 x MG 17 (7.92mm) — with one firing through the hub.

However, it actually was armed with an MG FF (20mm) as its motorkanone (a gun fixed to fire through the hub), and there are numerous sources that document this. I've heard that apparently there is a single (Soviet) source which states the Heinkel's which were purchased by the USSR from Nazi Germany were armed as such (with an MG 17 motorkanone), however, as stated earlier, that is a single source and all other sources indicate is was an MG FF. Why would Gaijin bother to put all the time and effort into creating an aircraft and adding it to the game and then give it incorrect specs based on one source? Someone please explain this to me.

Like I said. Leave the He100 we have where it is, and give it a subtype (I don't know what to call it to make it any clearer; it's when more than 1 craft occupies 1 slot, you click it and it shows the variations, like the P-39s/P-400 for example) that has the cannon, but make the one with the cannon a slight BR higher.
I see what you mean.

Its called a bracket.

Well Gaijin doesn't call it anything; "bracket" works just as well.

He 100 D-1 w/ MG 17 BR 1.7

He 100 D-1 w/ MG FF BR 2.7 or 3.0 (or whatever idk)

Before we go any further, show me your source.

"Heinkel He 100: World Record and Propaganda Aircraft" - Hans Peter Dabrowski, historian known for his studies about german aircraft, which consulted the German Federal Archives to use as a base. It covers the He 100 from a more external view, without getting into deep details, the main focus of this book is to show the feats that it achieved as a record breaker aircraft, and how it affected the war in the propaganda role.

"Heinkel He 100 Record Breaker: Military Aircraft in Detail" - Erwin Hood, the book covers the entire aircraft development, from the plans to production and testing. Has several pictures that arent availble on the internet, pictures taken from the German Federal Archives. The BEST you can find out there.

Both books can be found on sale on the internet, the second one I bought from amazon in 2015, its worth a good read. They are by far the most complete books on the He-100. Or maybe the public ones. As the German Federal Archives may have more information than what was condensed on both.

I always liked german aviation, especially the He-100, the looks of it always had me on. I bought these books to help me complete two scale models of it, and I can say that I learned a lot more than just camouflage patterns from both.

What could be possible to address your desire for the 20mm MG FF variant, would be adding the He-100 V7 or V9. Just like we see the He 112 V5 in-game. He 112 V5 was a prototype version aircraft of the He 112 that made its way into the game. So there wouldnt be a problem with having the He-100 V7 for example in game. While the He-100D-1 remains in its correct configuration.

The He-100D-1 wasnt armed with 20mm MG FF, and 4x 7.92mm's. It was armed with 3x 7.92mm machine guns, and was the "only He 100 variant to achieve operational status" in the Luftwaffe. Being used for factory defense after losing the contract.

The ones armed with the MG FF, were the He 100 V7 and V9, both prototypes. V7 was armed, and then had its armament removed for high speed testing. V9 served as a destruction test-bed, therefore being destroyed, without operating.

And the He 100D-0 was armed with 1x MG FF and 2x 7.92mm's, however were only test aircraft and did not reach any sort of operational status. The three airframes completed were sold to Japan, thus not reaching any Luftwaffe service.

The D-1, the current version in game is the only that reached a little operational status with the factory test pilots in the defense of it. The one armed with the 3x 7.92mm. So yeah, it DOES have the correct armament.

Also the 3x 7.92mm's in game are more than enough for BnZ in the game. Play it right and you'll see.

Ok. Thank you for providing me with that. Here's my hardcopy source.

"...Protptypes six, seven and nine were completed to He 100 C standard, te third of these was the first He 100 to be armed, carrying two 20mm MG FF cannon and four 7.9 (.31cal) MG 1& machine-guns. Handling deficiencies revealed during service evaluation at Erprobungstelle Rechlin resulted in the introduction of the He 100D with enlarged tail surfaces and with a conventional, semi-retractible ventral radiator in place of the earlier enclosed system. It was armed with a 20mm GG FF cannon in the nose and two 7.9 (.31cal) MG 17 machine-guns in the wings. Fifteen He 100Ds were built, comprising three He 100 D-0 pre-production examples and the 12 He 100 D-1 production aircraft..."

Then it lists again in the spcifications;

Specification

Armament: one 20mm MG FF cannon and two 7.9mm (.31cal) MG 17 machine-guns

This is from a book entitled Warplanes of the Luftwaffe edited by David Donald in 1994. It also contains invaluable contributions from John Weal, an author/illustrator who's work can be seen in countless aviation books, the vast majority of them based on German aircraft. This book is a composition of overviews on all German military aircraft from 1939-1945, plus some other significant pre-war aircraft, such as the He 100. This can also be found pretty easily on the internet.

Obviously this is a classic case of contraticting information, as I don't think it's fair to denounce one each other's source.
