Most tanks perform very poorly stock compared to spaded or even mildly upgraded tanks.

Not to mention the crew level difference between someone who likely has 6.7-8.0 tanks versus someone who may have just unlocked the chaffee.

It sucks as a light tank with that slow speed. TBH I think it is a bad tank as well, you get one shot by abosolutly everything and have almost no chance of bouncing anything. The only good thing about it is the reverse speed which is almost as fast as the forwards speed for some reason. It sucked really bad at first but once I started to abuse the insane reverse speed then it got useable. Still a POS compaired to stuff like the T-34 which has compariable speed on open ground.

To be honest... it was a rage post, and I hated the tank! But when I got the thing spaded and learned more how to play with it, its a real nice flank and spank. It is one hell of a grind tho.

The Chaffee is one of my favourite tanks in the game, that reverse speed is godly.
