"This topic has been answered by relliK a few times, by the way, no it is not Malware, Its absolute main function is pinging the server for any updates, if it has one or two, it updates the launcher and game, if not it waits than sends another ping, I do not know techno mumbo jumbo so I cannot post info beyond that as that is all I know, if you need assistance poke relliK about this topic.
I linked 3 of them as they also give you info on how to correctly stop Gaijin.net Agent from operating if you want it.

Soul, I'm an android app developer and let me tell you, sometimes buttons don't work on some devices. Then it's up to the devs to make it work or tell the user what's wrong, and obviously these devs didn't care to even show an error message. Really bad design.
Seemed trolling due to the straightforward calling this malware with no evidence and lack of what looked like help and more like another screaming player because they don't like change.
As for the "bad design" I don't believe it is. What device are you attempting to play this on? I've never heard of anyone having any issue with the login and error messages do show as I've had them before. You don't have to claim being an app developer to explain simplicity. You'd be surprised how many common posters in this forum most likely know just as much as you.
There is absolutely no malware anywhere in this game/client. I have been playing this game for years since early testing.

"Open the launcher, click the spanner (wrench) icon, check near the bottom of the list, Auto Update, check it off, close launcher."
I now managed to disable it from automatically updating by unticking the checkbox in the launcher's options. Thanks guys. Though I would have liked it to be completely removed from my system..
The reason why I called it malware was because it got installed without my permission, it used network traffic, it still takes up space on my computer, it reinstalled things on my computer without my permission, and at a first glance there was nothing I could do about it. Having the disable option hidden away in a menu seems really weird to me. Asking for permission beforehand is obviously better design. And still, there's no way for me to completely uninstall it.
You can't get more asking for permision then the install user agreement. Its part of the stuff click on, that you allow them to update games for you. All you got to do is right click, browse files, then right click again delelte local content. Go to the folder in the other windo you opened before hand, delete everything. you just wiped the entire game off your hardrive.
I have 292 games in my libarary I have deleted local content for this game more then once when I wasn't playing it to save space, never once got auto update. No one mentioned how to do it becuase its rather easy and straight forward to uninstall things on steam, and auto updates are literally a staple of steam and key feature you agree to when you use it. Now you can run in oflfine mode to prevent it, but not sure if online games work in offline mode only used it when literaly my net was offline.. Moral of story when you get user agreement and blindly click it, 90% of your problems were warned about and agreed upon upfront with most companies and games.
I mean hell I got free game once for agreeing not to sue over a failed game launch by ubisoft. I skimed it saw it was a contract waving all my rights to a refund and to join class action lawsuit did it anyways others did it, then tried the "I will sue them threats" didn't realise they signed a waver when they got their free game lol But that was a real thing there was a growing group formign a class action lawsuit but most of them don't read user agreements and took the free game so it never got the momentium they wanted.
Our Technical Moderator (KnightoftheAbyss) made a informational thread regarding the Gaijin.Net Agent.

Namikaze, I find it funny how even anti-virus programs that scan the executable mark it as malware, yet you guys & moderators keep insisting it isn't. Just repeating "IT ISN'T MALWARE!!!" or referring to other people who say the same thing doesn't make it non-malware.
It's not Malware. And not every AV program is marking it as such. And being an app developer doesn't make you any more credible. Anyone can be an "app developer" these days.
The reason we keep saying it's not is because of the function it serves, which is simply to auto-update. It does not take any of your personal information from anywhere and it does not mess with anything that is not related to the game client. Its only function is literally to update the game, nothing else.
I have it disabled on my main work laptop due to the fact I only use the game installed here to get daily bonuses at work when I don't have time to play on a given day, however it was easy enough and did not trip any of exhaustive corporate security checks my laptop goes through every time it gets on our private network... that alone says a lot.
Also, I absolutely HATE 3rd-party antivirus programs... they have not been necessary for the last 5 years. Windows Defender is all you really need, and if that's not enough for you, then the free version of Spybot gives almost TOO much power to the average user. I have not had a virus problem ONCE in almost a decade with Windows 7, 8.1, or 10. NOTE: Yes, I get the annoying fake virus warning from time to time on website re-directs, however that is solved with the task manager and closing the browser, no additional antivirus program is necessary, since technically you are not "infected" with anything at that point until you start giving them permission to load stuff on your computer.
