GTX 1080 ti vs GTX 980 ti

I am thinking to get a new GTX 1080 ti to replace my GTX 980 ti.
Do you think there will be a big difference between the two GPUs?
Do you think GTX 1080 ti will improve the VR experience for War Thunder using Oculus Rift DK2 after GTX 980 ti been used.

GTX 980 Ti = GTX 1070 so yeah the GTX 1080 Ti would be quite good upgrade.

GTX 980 TI > GTX 1070. You are comparing a high end card against a good performance card.

The Pascal generation cards are way past GTX 900 series performance.

GTX 1060 6 GB = GTX 980
GTX 1070 is slightly better then GTX 980 Ti
GTX 1080 is same performance as two GTX 980 running in SLI
GTX 1080 Ti is off the charts, best graphics card currently available and only thing that can reliably run 4K monitor with 60 fps.

As just a card improvement, sure. Will you see a diff in WT with VR? Doubt there will be much. You can search for people who run with either card and they mention keeping settings down to work smoothly. It's not all about the hardware with some games
