Hydronumatic suspentions on tanks in warthunder?
ok... so i recently had a fun little glitch that reset my keymappings, (different story all together), and i saw some key bindings for suspention settings on tanks...curiously i looked into this. i mapped the keys to my number pad and was hoping to use the suspentions but i quickly found out that these suspentions are only on some tanks. after some more digging i have yet to find out what tanks have this feature. maybe someone here has an idea as to what tanks support this functionality? afaik its a fairly new feature and part of very few tanks but im either missing something or just didnt dig deep enough, but im lost as to which tanks have the featured hydronumatic suspentions. for those who dont know what that is, its like a car hydrolics system but for tanks. the tanks that have them can raise or lower the tracks travel like a car as a whole or individually. meaning if you are in a KV-2, if it had this feature, and you were on a hill leaning to the side you could raise the lower track to make yourself level to a point. if you were climbing a hill and dont have enough gun depression then lean the tank forward by dropping the front and raising the back to drop the aim even more and visa versa. if you are in a small tank like the zsu-57 and sitting below a small hill you could hide yourself by lowering the suspention and then raising it to allow yourself to see above the hill. itd be usefull to know what tanks could use this, so does anyone know what tanks have this kind of suspention?

Yeap just those tanks as they're the only tanks currently ingame that has them.

are there plans for more tanks to have em? not just other new releases?
like custom special warbond packs putting the custom module on the tank?

The only tanks in-game that actually used this in real life are the Type 74 and STB-1 though. It should be limited to tanks that actually used it to make them unique, instead of just throwing unrealistic modules on tanks that never had such things.

well if they wanted realism they should rework the t34s because in all reality t34s were only ever effective against the germans medium tanks and panthers, the americans tanks armour was rolled steel instead of forged for the M4's and the KV-1S had a better gun along with the T-29 having the hammerhead turret that added like 30-60mm of rolled and angled armor.

which t34? there are a bunch of them.

And there is a diffirence between realism and balance, and trying to make both work.

pretty much all of them. the only one that was fairly realistic the 1941 variant. ill post this article for info and referances. been researching Russian tanks for the past few weeks for a history project and this is a pretty reliable post with the correct sources.

Again, realism and balance are a hard thing to impliment together.

German tanks were just as unreliable, especially the further in the war you go while the Soviets did minor improvements to help the issue while the Germans were not as able to. Why not just have a Panthers transmission break in a neutral steer, or a Tiger H1's engine giving out in the middle of combat? Every nation suffered horrible issues with multiple types of tanks, but that would not be fun in terms of gameplay. Early on, they did play around with the idea (but never implamented).

Think of starting the match in any tank only to realize your engine broke and you are just stuck outside the spawn point (and in early GF, it could take up to and over 200 seconds to repair 3 parts of the tank). What about your transmission giving out while you drive through the open and get stuck, only to become the easiest target and killed without getting anything done?

Point is, to have a game that is popular, you have to drop some realism to keep the game fun and playerbase up.

That's a problematic site.
There are facts in it like the technical info on tanks but there's a lot of guess work with very few if any sources on actual stuff outside of the tank stats.

Good on that guy on making that blog post but at the end of the day, it's still just a blog and can't be regarded as anything worth referencing.

Not to mention repair times.
A sherman's engine for example could be swapped out, not so much with a panther. Where as with that, you need to take it all out just to work on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or any other internal part.

So in one day, more tanks from other nations could be repaired and sent back into combat where as not so much with the german counterparts.

Lol I remember that. You had to sit for like 2 minutes as your engine gets repaired. Oh the good ol' days.

Oh and please don't write like this again.
I know that this isn't elementary school but it isn't easy to read this huge wall of text without paragraphs and proper sentences. Using commas all the time instead of periods can be forgivable and not hard to deal with but this wall of text isn't easy to read at all.

Engine, tracks, and barrel all broken took FOREVER. It was often easier just to bail out of the vehicle then wait for it to repair. I remember repair times of up to 300 seconds which was about a good 5 minute wait :steamsad:
