I can try with other monitors (1440x900 or 1280x1024) and other gpus (650 and 1050ti).
I have a pentium with a 280x (which is equivelent to a 960). However even though the fps is around 60, there's A LOT of tearing which really hinders my performance to do well.
Intel core i7 970 @ just under 4Ghz. (2010 processor btw)
Geforce 970 gtx.
CPU usage stays around 20% in the task manager.
Don't know how it handles it accross cores. (my CPU has 6)
It might not even be the bottleneck.
Well I went into an AB 2.3 match with tanks, and it hovered around 75%
After everyone dispersed, it stayed around 20%
On another note, i5s from that generation (devil's canyon) are still insanely expnsive. They've barely depretiated.
I'd be better off selling it all and buying AMD's ryzen and getting more out of that. But who knows what the benchmarks and prices are but it'll be interesting to see if they shake up intel.
Download MSI Afterburner, and see what the GPU usage looks like in game.
Mine jumps to 99% as soon as I'm in a match on the movie preset..
You can also use that app to OC your GPU.
It might just do the trick and get you a stable 60fps.
(once it's done you can set it to run on startup and never worry about it again)
You'll also need a benchmark or two to torture test the GPU to make sure it's stable in different conditions.
I used Heaven 4.0 and Furmark.
Edit: Also, if tearing is the main issue, consider running the game with Vsync, or adaptative Vsync. IIRC it cuts your fps by quite a bit but gets rid of tearing.
