Reversal flying and "look around" in SB
Ok, pilots, I've got some questions since I really want to get better, farm things as fast as I can, join the squadron and jump into the battlefield of simulator battles.

Firstly, I have a question about something that called "reversal". It's really popular in RB mode, epsecially on 5th ranks. The point is: you look behind with your MOUSE, but not with FREE LOOK, you move your aircraft with mouse, performing barrels and scissors for the enemy to overshoot, so you can get on his six.
Question: how to do it effectivly and do I need to use WASD while also moving cursor and looking back at the same time. I want to repeat, that this is not a "look back" camera.

Second one. I don't have cash for HOTAS and headtrack device, so I need to master SB with mouse and keyboard.
My question is: how can I look around me freely, at the same time performing manueveres, like horizontal scissors with enemy fighter. Am I suppose to do it with WASD or can I use my mouse effectivly both for tracking enemy around me and piloting the thing?

If you can guide me to the quality tutorials and guides, I will appreciate it, too.

Flying the plane with mouse and moving your view with the mouse is impossible as you already know. This is why real simmers use a joystick and a headtracking device.
Binding your view control to the keyboard (WASD) is the only possible alternative.

For best success in SB a pilot doesn't get in front of an enemy plane.
If you end up with an enemy on your six you made a grave mistake in the first place.
Pulling a successful reversal at this point is the exception.
You get shot down or crippled most of the time.

Here is some air combat p0rn:

If u really want to play SB try to buy a joystick, u dont need a very expensive one (if u can of course) and for the head movement i use a 3point led clip which i bought from a webpage (34€+ ps3 eye 5€). All u have to do is remove the IR filter which is really easy and use a floppy disk or something as a light filter thats all. I use it with opentrack and its great trust me , stable looking and zoom and u can really feel the dogfight or when u are diving.
Ps: u can use this with a mouse so maybe its the answef to your problem cuz u will be able to control your plane and look back at the same time

My budget doesn't allow me to buy a joystick and a headtrack device, so I need to find out how to deal with things /w M&K.
For my manuevers that I've been using in RB can be set up fairly simple. I've just binded my elevator pitch up to an easy to use key for my left hand, in my case, the X key, since I don't need my thumb on the space bar. This allows you to "look around" with the normal arcade/realistic mouse aim, but also let you pitch accurately in a direction for manuevers. Combine your pitch up with rolling at correct timing, and you can get good at performing sissors while looking behind you to predict your opponents movements to stay out of the line of fire.

That's just one way to do it, I'm sure there are others.
