Its ok. Stock ammo is generally all it needs for the most. The advantage is the speed. The Soviets are quite good at making a mobile heavy tank and the T-10M often drives more like a medium (turning is a bit slower, but not a whole lot). The problem is the fact that it is a heavy and uses the 122mm gun. Since armor does not matter near as much, the T-10M often takes penetrating hits in the turret (breaking the breech, turret traverse, crew, etc) and the easy to hit and weak lower glacis often results in being ammo racked.

What it is best at is peeking out, unloading a strong APCBC (which penetrations often result in a 1 shot kill or critical), and using the good reverse speed to back off into cover. But its size makes it easily flanked, spotted, and hit. A decent player can make a few kills, but expect to see a lot of Leo's, STB's, and Type 74's that the T-10M can easily pen, but they can do the same.
Too bad it's armour is nothing in Tier V and the tanks is a heavy tank, but MBTs dominates the Tier Vs but the gun is not bad and mobility is good atleast for a heavy tank but still isn't as good when comparing with the T 62.

The armor can be good if not having a barrage of HEATFS or ATGM's fired at you (so HESH and APDS) so long as you cover the lower glacis. The mobility of the T-62 is nothing special either, it moves like a Soviet medium and that is "moves fast forwards, standard backwards, and "meh" when it comes to turning while not moving or moving at low speed".

so the armnour works against non HEAT type weapons?

It can, but you can never trust armor in Tier V. You will often be safe from the common 105mm L7 varriants APDS and sometimes HESH. The turret is often quite safe unless the enemy is a realy good shot. But the Chieftains APDS will always be a huge threat and is very similar in armor (if not a bit better) then the T-10M's, making it a very dangerous enemy.

I consider Tier V Soviets to be the second worst. Mobility is decent at best, a bit of protection, the 115mm and 122mm take a while to reload (which is VERY important), and the T-54's are plagued with poor turret traverse speed (and all suffer from Soviet gun depression). If you want an easier time, go get the IT-1. Free 500mm max pen ATGM's and T-62 armor and lower profile then most tanks.

in your opinion what are the best teir 5 nations?

and witch vehicles

Germany and the Leopards are considered the kings of Tier V. Amazing mobility, just the right size, good gun and ammo, all make it an excellent flanker from nowhere. Not much needs to be said about them other then they are amazing tanks.

Second going to Japan and the STB-1 and Type 74 which are essentially Leopards (but a little bit slower, but not a whole lot) with the same gun and ammo choices, but come special with the Hydropneumatic suspension, allowing you to alter how the tank sits (raise the front, rear, sides, or the entire tank itself) allowing you to lower, raise, or shift your profile to take better cover, level the tank on hills, or give you a bit more gun depression.

Third I would say goes to the US. The M60's are quite well protected, have the 105mm like the Leo and Japanese, and can take some hits. Problem is the size. M60's are TALL and make for very easy targets. The massive commanders copula on both also make for excelent shooting points for anything with a HE filler (so the Soviets).

Fourth goes to the Soviets. Essentially considered your 'avrage' tanks. Though the T-62 is unique in being the only tank with APDSFS, T-10M can have some decent armor, ZSU-57-2 is essentially a light tank with twin 57mm guns that can knock any Tier V out with relative ease, and the IT-1 is one of, if not the, best (and most hated) ATGM's in-game.

And finaly, Britian. The Chieftain is your only real choice for a top tier tank. Shoving 120mm APDS into enemy armor at a minium of 1 shot every 10 seconds. Problem is the APDS lacks any real fragmentation and why high tier Brits are often considered "the king of assists". If you can learn to use HESH correctly, the Centurion Mk.10 is the other solid choice here.

thanks for the good explanation, while we are on the topic, how good is the M60?

As I mentioned, ok at best. Biggest problem is the sheer size of them. They are about 10 and a half feet tall (if you have ever been against one, they are massive). This makes them very easy to spot and often attract a lot of fire. That also makes it hard to cover it without exposing it. And with the copula, it makes it dangerous if Soviet tanks are firing AP with HE fillers. Covering the hull is good as most of the ammo is easy to hit there. Similar to the T-62, its your avrage MBT (well, the T-62 is considered a medium, but you know what I mean).

It faces tanks that it can easily pen with the default round, which makes it a tank in tier 5 that can actually make money, since the default rounds are cheap. It also is above average speed for a heavy tank, armor is trollish as it eats ATGMs all the time.

I'm researching it aswell currently, 700 rp to go. From what I've seen on youtube it looked really strong with the nuke round and twin 45mm pen HMGs.
T10m, use it as sniper and profit.
