What it is best at is peeking out, unloading a strong APCBC (which penetrations often result in a 1 shot kill or critical), and using the good reverse speed to back off into cover. But its size makes it easily flanked, spotted, and hit. A decent player can make a few kills, but expect to see a lot of Leo's, STB's, and Type 74's that the T-10M can easily pen, but they can do the same.
I consider Tier V Soviets to be the second worst. Mobility is decent at best, a bit of protection, the 115mm and 122mm take a while to reload (which is VERY important), and the T-54's are plagued with poor turret traverse speed (and all suffer from Soviet gun depression). If you want an easier time, go get the IT-1. Free 500mm max pen ATGM's and T-62 armor and lower profile then most tanks.
Second going to Japan and the STB-1 and Type 74 which are essentially Leopards (but a little bit slower, but not a whole lot) with the same gun and ammo choices, but come special with the Hydropneumatic suspension, allowing you to alter how the tank sits (raise the front, rear, sides, or the entire tank itself) allowing you to lower, raise, or shift your profile to take better cover, level the tank on hills, or give you a bit more gun depression.
Third I would say goes to the US. The M60's are quite well protected, have the 105mm like the Leo and Japanese, and can take some hits. Problem is the size. M60's are TALL and make for very easy targets. The massive commanders copula on both also make for excelent shooting points for anything with a HE filler (so the Soviets).
Fourth goes to the Soviets. Essentially considered your 'avrage' tanks. Though the T-62 is unique in being the only tank with APDSFS, T-10M can have some decent armor, ZSU-57-2 is essentially a light tank with twin 57mm guns that can knock any Tier V out with relative ease, and the IT-1 is one of, if not the, best (and most hated) ATGM's in-game.
And finaly, Britian. The Chieftain is your only real choice for a top tier tank. Shoving 120mm APDS into enemy armor at a minium of 1 shot every 10 seconds. Problem is the APDS lacks any real fragmentation and why high tier Brits are often considered "the king of assists". If you can learn to use HESH correctly, the Centurion Mk.10 is the other solid choice here.
