Mosquito is also very good.
To me the Fw190 is easily the best rocket fighter (IL-10 quite good aswell) because of its great agility for aiming the rockets.
For lighter rockets against heavier tanks, you may want to attack from the back rather than the front. I think that matters, though I'm not entirely sure.
Rockets have drop, scatter, and aimpoint offset due to their launching from the wings. And most of them won't kill fully-armored targets unless they hit very close. It's tricky. But I find a load of rockets often preferable to a load of bombs - with 8 HVARs in Arcade on a good day I can often kill 3 or 4 chosen targets, which seems to require more luck to pull off with most bombers. And FW rockets are huge and hull-mounted so they're much easier to hit with, though you only get a couple. I've never been any good with the Mosquito rockets, though.
