on Win8/10 this can be done in the task manager (startup tab). on Win7 you will have to start the system configuration tool (by either pressing Win+R and type msconfig in the command line or click the windows start button and type msconfig in the search field) and go into the startup tab.
the entry you need to untick / disable is the gaijin.net agent (gjagent.exe).
now the Gaijin updater wont be started anymore on the start of the system. if you want to remove the files related to the updater you need to go to c:\users\<username>\AppData\local\ and delete the ..\Gaijin\ folder. however, the AppData folder is a hidden system folder so by default you wont see it in the windows explorer.
