Starpoint Gemini 2: Tips and Tricks (For Beginners)
Hey everyone!

I see a lot of questions and comments about the tutorial and discussions about how to do the very basics in the game, so I put together a (short-ish) video talking about how to do some things in this awesome game that hopefully gets you on your feet. Let me know your thoughts and if you have further questions let me know!

Great stuff, this is what will save many a new player from all the pain associated with learning a new game. Even though SPG2 is pretty well put together, the scope can be confusing.

Good for a sticky, sticky, STICKY.

@Alexandus; Thanks for this video, really got me started in this galaxy!

As for making money (pretty fast); After boarding or destroying an enemy (or friendly) ship dont forget to sell their "systems" seperate. (transfer command to it and empty all weapon-slots).

If you manage to find "The Spire" station, you can buy every "license" there wich will give you a steady monthly income. (cost;250.000credits per license/income around 1000-2000credits monthly)

I also found an officer-for-hire who also gives me 5500credits a month.

All this made sure i have a huge income, even without doin any missions at all. It seems also possible to get licenses for selling loot at better prices, this might also open options for buying in one station and selling it at another station for a profit (havent tried that out yet).

I hope this helps you abit, so we can have more video's like this! :spg2wolf:

Great video. Would definitely like a video on Combat tips as it seems to be where I struggle the most (360 degree action is tense!!).

@Menicus, what do you mean by 'transfer command' to be able to sell systems? :)

The way is sell my "pirated" ships is by transferring command to it via the "hangar/garage" option on planets or stations.
By doin this it lets you strip away the "systems" (heavy and light weapons) and sell those seperately or use them yourself.

By using transfer-command, you swap the ship you're using. This option only works when you store the "pirated" ship in your Garage/Hangar on a planet or station.

As for your 360degree-action, press V-key to go into turretview or press F-key to have your gunners "fire-at-will" (or use both).
Fire-at-will becomes pretty strong at higher levels and with upgraded systems. (The Brotherhood decloaking in their escape-pods is no threat at all anymore).
And once you get a ship with a hangar you will be able to have a fighter-squadron ready to defend your ship too, 360degree-combat will be fun^^ :spg2wolf:

I have added to the first post a video detailing combat and how to get started with not only the use of weapons on your ship but the utilization of fighters. Hopefully this helps!

Great video! And seeing your ship, i guess you found yourself a solid income too.

Did miss heavy-weapon use. :spg2bomb:

could you people give me any advice on where to go/ what to do to get some sort of income? got 5mil. now but its going very very slow for me.
Alexandus Feb 2, 2014 @ 8:06pm
basically as of right now its all about capturing ships and dragging them back to a station to sell them. At first you can only capture small vessels but this ramps up as you purchase larger ships with a larger hold for troopers.
