Is the cuts/transitions/fade to black from the combat to flying through space just for the live stream? Or in the game?
Is the guns targeting reticule going to be the pixle side dot we see in the stream? Or is there going to be something different?

Thanks a bundle for taking a look and for the feedback. We honestly appreciate it. Here's some feedback from our side then :).

Pro 1-7. Thank you very very much. I'll pass it along.

Con
  1. More work will be done on all of the character animations, which includes lipsync. The facial animations are actually quite accurate (we record and further tweak each spoken line), but some visual quality (and frame sync) was lost due to streaming.
  2. You're not actually flying a small fighter, more of a gunship-size craft.
  3. I personally agree on this. I really like the effect, and I too would like to see more of it, but that's down to tweaking. It won't be a problem to find the right balance.
  4. Both humanoid characters and other drones will populate hallways. We just haven't gotten around to it yet.
  5. Not sure which ones in particular you're referring to, so it's difficult for me to say anything of note. All written material will, however undergo at least one more pass.

Hey there Veny,

I guess I can say a word or two... no harm in that :).

A simple answer would be:
  • Skills - so you can git gud
  • Ship - 'cause, you know... space 'n reasons :D
  • Crafting - and I'm not talking about beer either. Unlike our previous games, almost all of the commodities that you can find, trade, mine, collect... whatever, can be used to create something better, either for further trading or to mount on your ship.

I'd say it's not yet time to get into the detailed specifics though (we should get to it soon though), but the above should offer a rough sketch :).

In topic [BETA TESTERS WANTED!] New game controller scheme!
Oops... apologies. Here's the procedure:

- open Steam client
- right-click on the Starpoint Gemini Warlords in the games list
- open Properties -> BETAS
- in the Enter beta access code... field type in: Njlmk4501hLk and click Check code
- this unlocks the "private_beta" option in the dropdown above the field
- switch to it and let Steam client download the update

If at any time, you wish to leave the beta, simply switch the dropdown to NONE

My idea for the one in geminipedia is simply a zoom and turnable 3d model... like what you see in space if you didn't need to fight it.
So you cilck the view button and the ship shows up covering most of the window to show you it.

That way we can see all the ships without having to goto wiki or find it's specific shipyard.

Yep. The game checks the local saves folder. If the save is in there, it will work :). Though, Steam syncs the saves folder too, so if you do the transfer via Steam client, your save files should appear automatically (if syncing is allowed on your end of course).

Our pleasure. That's one of the biggest differences of the mod part of the engine chugging along in the background. A lot of work went into setting it all up properly on our end, but it was worth it :).

OK. Just did the double-check. Razer Wildcat works perfectly with the game. Of course, if you do get the game and run into any problems with the setup, just let us know :).

It's not yet time to reveal our plans. I can tell you that the underlying engine can handle a lot more additional content, regardless if it's mods or DLCs, without a problem (in comparison to Starpoint 2 back-end system that didn't like being pushed too far). That said, we are currently pretty focused on ironing out the remaining reported issues and adding light features that were frequently requested by the ladies and gents here, but we didn't have time to implement so far.

I'll check with our lead programmer. A lot of the UI is open for modifications in essence (editable panel .pan files and such), but I'll have to discuss the particulars with him.
It's something we'll definitely discuss in the team and consider. We had a modding competition already actually, back while we were still in early access with cash prizes and stuff. We might do another one, who knows...

This was suggested on numerous occasions. The root of the problem however is the GUI portion of the engine which will need to be changed to accommodate this. I'll add another tick to the issue on our tracker and check with the programmers about it.
