Is there a cockpit view?
Yes. IS there a cockpit view in game , if not is it coming?
If not whole cockpit but mabe HUD without to mutch ship on it?

No cockpit view, but first-person view is coming according to dev(s).

Dungeoncrawler69 is correct, cockpit view isn't planned, but implementation of first person camera is. Hope it won't disappoint you too much. Absence of cockpit view was a design choice since we believed capital ships (and combat mechanics er envisioned with multiple independent turrets) would not be convenient to operate from cockpit view. We do understand that immersion could suffer to an extent due to this decision, but we'll do our best to make our concept work as best as possible

I understand your point well.
Im glad for first person view coming and thats enough for me.
I just dont like to mutch ship on the screen :D

My own personal opinion is, I'd rather not have cockpit views at all. And if at any point in development, the devs do include it, please make it so it's optional. I'm not a fan of first person views, or of cockpit views. The cockpit view, for me, is just too distracting.

Here's an idea, how about including an alternative fixed view of a command center with multiple screens of which the one in the center would be the default 3rd person view and the ones on the sides could show realtime footage from multiple surveillance cameras and trooper, fighter pilot first person views.
It would be amazing to get this at some point with another layer of gameplay adding the option to manually give out orders to individual squads of troopers and fighter pilots making them attack certain enemy systems and ordering repair drones or crew members around sections of your own ship to have a more direct control of your own systems.
Could look something like this

And throw in a large window in the background through which the space and objects appear exactly as huge as they would from a human first person perspective.
Of course all of the surveillance windows could also be added to show along the sides on the normal fullscreen 3rd person view.
Better yet make the game utilize a secondary and potentially more monitors for the surveillance windows while the main monitor continues to show the usual 3rd person view. This is coming from someone who has multiboxing experience in MMO's and knows exactly how much nicer it is to have a second monitor instead of clogging your main screen with smaller windows on top of your regular view.

For the sake of immersion a couple of simple loops that repeat in every encounter would be enough for the alternative command ceter view. Of course adding actual interactive control over the zones you have the surveillance footage from is probably way too much work...

If only there was a game with awesome space ship combat and the Mass Effect style running around your own ship... And then personally boarding an enemy ship and gunning down or capturing its troopers, crew and automated defense systems... Seems more impossible than becoming an astronaut irl and having the honor of shooting an AK47 at some satellites in space.

Capital ships don't have cockpits. Well, maybe the gunships might. But a bridge or CIC view would be kinda cool. I am still waiting for someone to make a Silent Hunter like game in space so I can be like Commander Adama giving orders and hearing the XO bark the orders at the crew... LGM, that's your next project.

So much to do, so little time ;). If this continues, we'll have enough suggestions to work with till pension :D. I can't really complain about that to be honest. It's great to see so much interest and creativity :).

folks need to just keep in mind this isn't SC/ squad42 .. this is a great single player game that they are making. No need to get as detailed and techincal as other upcomming titles. Personally i like simplicity and fun with some rpg *growing aspects* to the game. Which is probably why i like this game so much.

How about a view that has the camera orbit the ship at close range facing outwards?
I understand the dev's have been having issues with the ship model being "in the way" when trying to implement a 1st person view.

Well. This view and cockpit is not really that crucial. Actually at first i did not know that that starting ship was capital ship. It looks so sporty :D

cockpit, bridge, its all about immersion, third person view should be optional, for cosmetic, aww, I like to watch my ship or character being annoyingly in the way of POV.

The 3rd person view is not too bad, but I feel the angle of view is just every so slightly off or something,.. I just can't put my finger on it, so year, a cockpit or "bridge" view would be cool. Custom turret placement would be great,... i'd love to tweak that about, moving all turrets to front or side depending on my style of fighting with each ship... ie: harrying or broadsides etc. But yeah, I'm really glad I put my money into backing this on early access.
