i can't decide on this or warlords

I was hoping maybe someone could help me decide on which they prefer and why any input would be appreciated thank you.

spg2 : single ship focus, slow paced.
warlords : strategic focus (fleets, conquest...), fast paced.

Thanks for the quick reply is the combat the same in both games and is it fun. I'm going to be using a xboxone controller is that even a viable way to play it?

The games are playable with a controller, but I woud not recommend it.

Combat is more tactical in spg2 (deeper) and more strategic in warlords (wider).
