Cheese build for stunlock
The set does give you an advantage, but not a very big one.
Not them.
You need to complete the secret areas in chapters 1, 2, 4 and 5. Once they are done you can go to the Great Pagoda location in Chapter 3 - the one with the murals. There will be an NPC that will open the way to the Chapter 3 secret area with the extra difficult boss.
Spec into Spellbinder and crit and spec out of all other spells
The reason is that once you finish the game, you get a unique ending cutscene and a different credits song. You can then just continue that playthrough (don't click start a new cycle) and it will let you carry on.
You then do the secret boss and the ending boss again and get the new cutscene and new credits song. If you kill the secret boss, you will never see the normal ending unless you start a whole new cycle.
Ah, alright! Then I'll do that. I was worried about missing an apparently pretty cool cutscene. Then I'll finish chapter 6 and after that, return to chapter 3 for that final boss.
Some tips:
1. Fan is absolute god-send, use drink that grants Qi on use and you will be able to use it twice or maybe even three times in the fight.
2. Azure Dust transformation is great for this fight as well, if you use it right you can destroy 3/4 of boss' shield
3. Push your thunder resistance as high as possible to slow down status effect build up
4. The boss has new phase every 25% health (or similar) - he adds new moves, no charging attacks, etc but most importantly he break any crowd controll on him. Do not use fan when he is about to hit the threshold.
5. Get as much mana as possible as well, you want to be able to use Cloud Step often to avoid his aerial attacks and to deal damage to him.
6. Charged heavy attacks and light combo finishers also damage his health in addition to damaging his shield.
7. Pluck of Many can be life-saver in last phase of the fight. The fight get very hectic and you need to finish the boss before you eventually die. Immobilize him (if you have mana), cast Pluck of Many and hope for the best-charge heavy attack and try to finish it.
Fighting Chapter 6 final boss twice is a slog. I would just watch "bad" ending on Youtube and do the good ending, which involves beating secret boss in Greater Pagoda and than tackle Chapter 6 final boss.

Once he's staggered by the wind, spam as much attack as you can.
Smash and Thurst stance is your best chance. Seeing-through and Resolute counterflow is amazing against him, but again it's timing skill.
Best build to go against him is critical hit build.
Rock Solid spell is more preferrable but riskier than Cloud Step, while Cloud Step is more safer if you need to heal.
The rest just be patient, learn his moves and wait for him to attack first then dodge and counter-attack, mainly gaining focus point that way. You can dodge and quickly spam quick attack then dodge again.
Immobilize only when he's staggered or knock-backed, there you can spam attack or spent all your focus point on him.
Sunset of the nine skies drink. This way you always get your apramana bat and fan back ASAP. Best transformation is Azure Dust as a panic button if needed.
