In the orginal story, it kicked Wukong's ass so hard. Wukong then have to go to the heaven look for help. And in the end, it's an needle treasure helped him to broke the master's special spell. Something you can use as some kind of hint how to normally defeat him.
Wukong actually lost against the Golden Eagle and even Guanyin lost to him, in fact only Tathagata Buddha can win against him. He's certainly considered the "last boss" of JttW.
He also did lose to his Centipede Daoist too (the boss in this thread), but the Centipede has a certain gimmicks against Wukong.
When fight with the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, an anchor I followed hit it without using the needle. i was so excited. i believe you can win him
