it's ridicilously bad lmao. the saddest part is that this is the only time we've seen Maximilien in lore in YEARS... in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shop update
Forget activisim. forget side-ism (This game sucks, my other game rocks!), forget all that nonsense. This is a BAD feature, that tries to drip feed paid content and/or entice those that didn't spend to start spending. It's bloody grooming behaviour. It is wild.
the only true problem is the greedy nature of it; it's the only really "new" thing in this update, and its only purpose is to incentivise direct purchase of items at a seemingly "fair" price.
it fails in a depressing way - other games who do this like VALORANT at least have a reason to (highly valued cosmetics like Knives are really expensive - having them at a cheaper price with more fomo is actually a worthy trade for alot of people) - while Overwatch simply gives you an assortment of random items, lacking bundles, with barely any "deal" attached to them.
they were too greedy in making a predatory system, that they didnt even give it a reason to exist - it's not even a deal you're making - you're getting random skins (mostly epics and under, or worthless legendaries) for a sale that's never over 25%. they didnt even bother lowering the prices, at least for its first introduction, nor give any sought-after skins in it.
they're just selling you the bottom of the barrel and praying a 10% off lures you in, without making any effort or even trying to give you a value proposition.
i disagree with the sentiment that somehow Overwatch 2's release (and following years) were a failure - we did get a bunch of exciting content, we escaped out of Overwatch 1's content drout... but after a few years it feels soooo dry.
i'm a massive fanboy of the franchise and yet even i can't make myself put up with the game when all we're getting are mid heroes that barely change the meta, cosmetic updates and small-tweak balance...
Cheap regional pricing by Epic Store. around 5 usd for a battlepass/1000 vbuck as South East Asian.
