Also some *intellectuals* see tf2 or homophobic conspiracies, but if you check it most reviews are from china and they are 90%+ bad
They just cant handle that their favourite corporation is actually really bad and nobody likes it
The game's changed a lot since Overwatch 1. Some people want the old version because of any number of reasons... whether they think the lootboxes were a better system or they preferred the 6v6 gameplay to the 5v5 or whatever.
-People loved OW1
-Company announces OW2
-promises stuff like PvE and hero skill trees
-OW2 launches
-Turns out even more predatory than OW1's lootboxes
-New heroes locked behind battlepass because "EnGaGeMeNt"
-OW1 servers are shut down
-Says they can't do PvE stuff anymore (they never wanted to, but waited several months)
-Launches on Steam because 20 million daily active users.
-Did not forsee utter sh*tstorm of giving people a very visible voice
-OW2 now holds title of worst reviewed game on Steam ever (9% out of 126k reviews)
That's why the game is the most negatively reviewed game on steam.

But even if we assume that 70% of the negative reviews can be ignored because it's chinese players that cannot play as the game is blocked in China then the remaining 30% is still about 35k people which is still considerably more than the 11k positive reviews. We then have to consider the amount of western players that set their steam location to China for one reason or another, like how many changed their location to China for the release of Baldur's Gate 3 since there was no pre-load and the chinese download servers weren't as cluttered with people trying to download the game. So likely the valid negative reviews are likely somewhere well above 35k users which is still a considerable amount and definitely shouldn't be ignored.
Now this is all based on my own math and assumptions regarding the situation. Obviously there are more than a few grey areas in all of this, but I thought I'd offer my speculation and reasoning to the pile.

BECAUSE I AM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRUSTRATED. For so many years, I haven't been able to voice my dissatisfaction with this company because of their heavy handed moderation and desperate need to save face. There is no major community for these games where Blizzard can't ban you for speaking out.
Even on the rare occasion where they can't ban their way out of criticism, they just ignore whatever problem they caused and never apologize for it. Warcraft Reforged is still a broken mess, but what Blizzard did instead of fixing the problem is just pretend WarCraft 3 never existed in the first place.
Now that they've stepped out of their carefully curated Subreddits and Battle.net environment, they're finally vulnerable to negative feedback.
