The game suddenly started giving me massive FPS drops?
So the game ran absolutely buttery-smooth since I installed it. Not a single problem.

Then, just after a night of playing with a friend, no changes being made to my computer ― that I'm aware of ― the next day, the game starts giving me massive FPS drops, down to 1-5 FPS.
It seems to be happening when things are loading in.

To be specific, this is what tells me that this only happens when something seems to be loading in:
When I go to the practice range ― to the left of the spawn, where one spawns an AI hero that stands still ― it gives me the biggest drops when I choose a new hero to spawn in.

That's when the biggest drops happen ― not the only drops. They also seem to happen ― though not to as much of a degree ― for no reason that's apparent to me. Like when I am simply walking about the practice range shooting at the training bots.

I've tried:
Clean reinstall of my GPU drivers
Reinstalled Overwatch, twice
Cleaned my shader cache out
Running the game on the lowest possible graphics
Disabling fullscreen optimisations for Overwatch client and CrashMailer
Running both of the above in admin mode
Overriding high-DPI scaling behaviour for both

...and a lot more things that worked for other people.
There seem to be lots of people who have similar problems on machines that absolutely can handle this game, like myself.
For some of them, extremely odd things have solved it. For one, it was turning on mouse acceleration. For another, it was resetting his audio settings. Another had to disable his mic.

I've tried everything I can find.

There are two things I cannot stress enough:
1) That Overwatch is the only game doing this, being an extremely easy game to run.
2) That this began extremely abruptly. The very night before I played the game with not a single problem, as I had until this. I changed no settings neither on my computer, nor in my game. I installed nothing new.

Opened a thread about this on Blizzard's forums too: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/the-game-suddenly-started-giving-me-massive-fps-drops/905223/7

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Could be related to DLSS or Nvidea Reflex. Try turning it off for a bit, maybe it helps.
I have a similar problem after every GPU driver update.

Thanks for the reply. I don't see the option for DLSS anywhere, but Reflex has been disabled all along.

Just installed the game through Battle.net and it's working. At least for now.
