Games need to hit a certain revenue benchmark on the Steam Store before Valve lets a dev add cards to their game. This is a Valve limitation.

Really? I've never heard of this and haven't looked it up, but I've seen plenty of games that haven't yet released that have trading cards, even free to play ones.

Is there a source for this info? Would love to read more about how that whole situation works

i would surmise that blizzard has zero interest/care in supporting steam features beyond achievements which go in tandem with the achievements that are already in the game. i really think cards and a point shop would be cool though, especially animated stuff

yeah I ended up just swapping back to battle net for the xbox game pass benefits which for some reason wont work if you play on steam
