Do they still require you to have a post-paid cellphone number to be able to create an account and play? I remember when OW2 launched that was like some giga issue for everyone, until later they decided to lift that up from OW1 existing players, and it was still applying to new players registering to play the game for free for the first time, if that is still a thing... oh boy...

you need postpaid premium service i heard someone tried with non premium and they can't put that number on their battlenet account

No you dont, you can use pre paid phone numbers from certain companies, they only block companies that are used as burner lines like companies that their focus or market are tourist traveling to a country or companies that dont require any owners documents for data verification, I have 2 accounts linked to pre paid lines,

That's a different context.
They made a big stink about unveiling this "great game" only for it to be a mobile cash grab. Not having or having a phone wasn't the issue. It's that we were duped into thinking a full blown Diablo game was coming.

In this case, you and everyone else probably has a phone. Especially if you got a pc or console that plays OW, so why is linking your phone such a big issue?

The difference there was the players were duped into being excited for a Diablo game only to see it was a mobile game. They were basically coping with the audience reception trying to convince them they can play a mobile game.

This on the other hand, is just asking you to link a number. Not actually play on your phone.
The point still stands though. You have a pc capable of playing Overwatch, but not a working phone?
