That way we could have OW2 achieve overwhelmingly negative, which be a GIGANTIC blow!
i think thats unfair, to valve:
they surely care little about TF2, but they still keep it alive, even if they dont care to renovate the franchise with a new titles, and the same goes with LFD2 and Portal 2. maybe if an independent studio pitched the idea to make them the sequels or spinoffs, valve could allow it as long as they also get paid.
i think they care, but care more about trying to first improve their hardware sales. i think maybe they cant afford time and money to design and push new titles of their own that wont make them easy cash fast like esports with DOTA. maybe thats why they try luck with that card, which i cant remember.
Anyway, theres no reason they should care about a brand they dont own, and even less when (i think) is now tightly controlled by microsoft. also no reason to review bomb something before playing, unless its filled with micro-transactions, gender and or "body positive" ideological propaganda, and similar forms of nazi-like authoritarian "anti-consumer"* pollution (imo *anti-human would be more appropiate). if the game is actually trash, it wont last much, and if it is ok and free of "the bad stuff", it may survive. either way its a good thing, because they are "testing the waters", and ow is a very valuable franchise. if this fails, they surely will try to keep it alive in some other way. also valve has never tried to save anything from bad reviews with censorship: usually the people connected directly to the game or forums are the ones trying to ban and censor bad reviews.
imo, its also a good thing blizzard is "mutating" so maybe classic blizzard titles will be available here someday, making also easier to play them in linux and steam deck. they should have focused in game design rather than trying to compete with valve. only epic can try, and only because they are likely backed by china for political reasons. imo most people are smart enough to collect free deals from epic, and take advantage of the better prices and bigger catalogue in steam, if they dont hate epic enough to avoid it completely after many of the shady deals that have turned to trash many good games.
Not dead, its called "Blizzard maintenance mode TM".
Not quite alive, not quite dead.
