Fatshark why would you use Stingray over Unreal Engine 4?
As the title says if a simple patch is 3.5GB? why use Stingray when UE4 has so much more to offer and is so much better?

No idea but I'm sure there are reasons, good ones too for it. Stingray could be cheaper to license or the coders prefer it over u4 and what not.

Heck if you really care to find out there might be something online where the devs talk about why they chose the engine they did to work with. If so let us know. Otherwise this post is a total oranges vs apples comparison and it comes of as uninformed nonsense.

At least let us know why you think its so much better if you're truly an expert and we'd actually might learn something interesting.

Because it's their engine. Autodesk bought it from fatshark guys and integrated into their own 3d software.

This guy gets it! Our CEO and founder (and others here) made Bitsquid, which became Stingray when Autodesk picked it up.

Engine seems fine to me. Maybe your real question is about the size of the update.

Hopefully its because they are working on releasing new content, I would be willing to play for some good DLC myself.
