Best traits for conflag staff?
Just rolled regrowth, hail of doom and stability. Seems pretty good and basically ideal to me. Any other trait combo that can compete with this on this staff like master crafted instead of stability?

Mc will only increase the speed of the regular attack.

Keep this setup. I use the same, pretty insane.

Interesting. HoD does trigger on the charged attack right?

Thanks for the confirmation.

Also I would think that these traits would also be primo for fireball staff. Already got a HoD fireball staff and that trait applies to both attacks.

I have the same traits on my Fireball staff currently, but I'm trying to switch Regrowth for Bloodlust, since I mistakenly thought the burn effect could proc Regrowth. With my luck at the shrine though, I think I'll just keep it as is...

Indeed... hey at least the HOD makes it better vs ogres.

Im actually using Haste,Regrowth, stability with a sword/flamesword with Bloodlust,Bersekering, Rune(any of the two)
Malacar 12 DIC 2016 a las 3:20 a. m.
As far as I know, Mastercrafted speeds up the charge of RMB attack on Conflagration staff, but Hail of Doom only works on its LMB attack. I have no proof though.

I also recommend taking Bloodlust over Regrowth, because when fighting hordes of slaverats you will basically kill each rat with one RMB hit + burn damage.\

Therefore I think the best trait combo would be Mastercrafted, Bloodlast and Stability.

Well it's worth getting another staff to try that out and see how it feels relative to the other build once I get more material.

I use regrowth, mastercrafted and the 20% less dmg for venting overheated (dunno the english name for it) since a long time and i'm very happy with it.
I always use it with a sword with earth rune trait, charge or normal attack.

Channeling Rune. It reduces venting damage from 5 to 4.

Best Traits for conflag:

1. Stability - will land in a strange spot when it will reduce more heat BUT full charge will go straight over overheating limit.
2. Regrowth or Bloodlust. In 1.5 they are at least equal (or bloodlust may be better with increace of killing potential)
Now you should settle with:
Diversion \ Berserking \ Channeling rune \ Mastercrafted \ hail of doom \ haste \ knockback

Diversion - huge AoE will make fallen allies safe-safe. But will work only when someone falls.
Knockback - 20% to push enemies extra far. May worth a slot with pushback reduction.
Hail of doom - 15% to make double normal attack. eh.
Mastercrafted - do you need extra AS on normal attack?
Berserking or haste - do you need extra AS on normal attack?
Channeling rune - you will save like 10-20 hp through the game. think yourself if it worth it.

a good sense of distance and patient prioritizing skills.

I don't think it does.

However, in the current build killing hordes with consecutive light attacks is often more heat efficient so mastercrafted is still good. I'm not so sure about that in 1.5 anymore.

mastercrafted - also charges the AoE attack faster and lets you spam more AoE attacks in a shorter time. helps to kill ogre fast. ofc i dont charge AoE for killing ogre but i spam a lot of small ones at him.

channeling rune: i only vent when i'm in a really bad situation. and then im happy with any dmg prevented. So IF i vent i would take 15-25 dmg and with this trait it would be only 12-20 so im happy with it.

Till 1.4, regrowth > bloodlust. no discussion needed.

Diversion is very nice on conflag sometimes i use this together with knockback and bloodlust. Best to save grim carriers.

berserking/haste/Hod ... dont think make any sense on that staff.

Important side mark: I play always with earth rune trait on sword and i use that trait.

I tell only by my experience since i play a lot with mage and conflag. I dont know any specific numbers about the traits and staff.

There is a secret: When you hit rats by weapon with overtime effect you can switch to another weapon and if rats die from overtime effect while you hold another weapon with "on kill" trait, dying rats can trigger this trait.
Stanist 12 DIC 2016 a las 9:31 a. m.
Distraction is good. You can push rats away from your fallen teamates and heal him in one super move.
Knockback is good too but sometimes you will push rats to your rear and it not so nice.
