Why do people always pick up the second grimoire?

Red health all the time, someone always going down during a horde, inability to deal with Stormvermin.
Oh, I know, let's get Grimoires!

I know on Nightmare you won't die instantly but I hate wasting half an hour cause people don't know how to manage their expectations. It's better to finish a mission than not, lads. If you or your teammates are on half health halfway through the mission they probably won't manage to keep upright when their max health is only 1/3!

If you host just warn them that you not gonna grind for loot. Sadly on NM there are too much grinders. But if you join someone`s game - its up to host to decide this. His lobby - his rules. Your lobby - your rules.

1. There are trinkets that reduce the Grimoire-Reduction
2. Risk-Reward-System
3. I can't even use grimoires anymore, I pick them up for fun.

4. If you think people are making the wrong choice, simply say so. When I was somewhat new to the game, I just told the others that 'perhaps we shouldn't get the second grimoire', for safety reasons, or because we had a nooblette in the team, or we were low on health, or hadn't seen the ogre yet. Depends on the map and situation.

By now I encourate bunnies to pick up the grimoires (starting at about level 40-50, their grimoire carrying abilities below that level are 'worthy of improvements')

When the game was still less than a year old, most people hated picking up the second one. Now after so long, the remaining playerbase just expects it as a standard thing. Just the curse of an aging game's community. To many veteran players, if you don't get every grim/tome, then the run is near pointless when so many people just want hats/reds.

Its fine for NM. I usually ask if they want the 2nd grim before going for it. Most of the time people want to. If not then we don't. All good.

2nd grim on cata is very different however. You really need a good team for a full book run on cata. Its usually just tomes and 1 grim for pubs.

What kind of noobish cata games do you play? In every cata game i join, a full book run is expected.

Public ones. It's very much a mixed bag.

I only play public ones and have never encountered one with only one grim, except the oney played by lowlevels. But 98% of the cata games are played by people who should know what they are doing.

difference between 2 and 1 grim is 1 rat`s strike on cat if you dont run lichbone. With lichboe its half of strike. SO 1 or 2 does not matter for survivability of the group in absolute most amount of scenarious.

But some ppeople feels uncomfortable when they see red HP bar, it make them nervous and they start to do mistakes. In this case your survivability is iundeed affected, but those people wont learn how to deal with it if they woint face it.

Anyway in my experience it is extremely rare case when on cata players want only 1 grim. Or 2 or none, which seems very sane for me, tbh.

So you might as well grab the second grim if you're going for grims in cata then? Is that what you're saying?

So you might as well grab the second grim if you're going for grims in cata then? Is that what you're saying?

Ask group if you unsure, lol. Just sharing my experience. Usually i dont even need to ask. If ppl dont want grims they start say it before you reach first. If they want grims usually they take both by default

I always pick both because I play a lot with one friend that's all about loot, and I like 'high rish high reward' sorta thing, and usually either of us hosts so we feel like making the call to get both is fair. When I join a pub host I generally expect everybody to want both, but still ask if I'm not 100% sure about the team's intentions.
