Exactly. Maybe you could play even better on M&K if you wanted but if you're already awesome and comfortable with a gamepad... that's great. Even if you aren't that's great too as long as you're having fun.
Lovely superiority complex there, champ.
Gamepads feel natural to me, keyboards do not. It all comes down to what you prefer. It's really a non issue. Spend enough time and you can master whatever control method you choose. It should all be secondary anyway. Gaming and having a good time are the ultimate goal. why sweat the small stuff
I didn't know any better when I played goldeneye 64. I was too young and dumb to realize how much it sucked... I ACTUALLY LIKED IT
On consoles they are clunky. Inferior to a K+M on computers. Not being elitist, it's just how they are made (which sucks, but I guess there must be some kind of reasoning for the limitation, one which boggles my mind). I never knew you could adjust them to be better on a PC. You need to teach me since it would help playing games like dark souls and the like (where the tacked on K+M option is absolutey garbage). Is it in the software that usually comes with the gamepad? I've nothing against playing with people who use controllers, but damn it if they are given any kind of advantage I can't benefit from.
I think that's why sporks came about. A combination of spoon and fork for those soups that have chunks in them. They are really wierd things. I mean you could just as easily just scoop up the bits with a spoon XD
Yeah. I've seen some incredibley skilled players using gamepads. I was part trolling in my original comment if that wasn't obvious.
Skill is limited by devices you choose to use. You'll notice that you can do far better with accuracy and timing when you aren't held back by clunky controls, dips in frames per second, lag, etc. No matter how much skill you have, if your game is running choppy and your controller isn't reacting as needed you aren't going to do well.
On the note of games getting "dumbed down" for mainstream, there are occurances where developers don't cater to the general public. You are forgetting though, developers are trying to make a living off the work they put in, so making their games as available as possible gets them that.
A few titles I've played to completion or near completion where shooting was a part of:
I will have missed quite a number of titles since I've played a lot of games across platforms.
(Gamecube) Hunter: The Reckoning, Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Requiem
(n64) Conker's Bad Fur Day
(xbox) Halo: Combat Evolved, Brute Force, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
(psp) Phantasy Star Portable, 3rd Birthday, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
(ps) Parasite Eve 2, Metal Gear Solid
(ps2) Spy vs Spy, Destroy All Humans!, Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly
---------side note: Time Crisis 3 and End Game I use a gun
(ps3) Valkyria Chronicles, Asura's Wrath, Bayonetta, Aliens vs Predator, The Last Of Us, Condemned 2 - Bloodshot, Demon's Souls, Resonance of Fate, all three Uncharted games, Vanquished, Warhammer 40000 - Kill Team, Vampire Rain - Altered Species
(DS) Custom Robo Arena
(3DS) Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
(Wii) The House of The Dead Overkill, Red Steel 2, Resident Evil - The Umbrella Chronicals
---------side note: still a console even though I used the mote and where applicable nunchuck
(pc) Gal Gun: Double Peace, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin
---------side note: used gamepad because K+M implementation was garbage
Hope that sates your curiosity.

I was trolling for most part. The whole 'pc master race' bs.
But it brought a great deal of conversation which was awesome. Some flaming and some quite informative. The informative ones were my inteded goal, but naturally I was going to get backlash for being a ♥♥♥♥. Sometimes, it's the only way to get some awesome discussions going. ;)
I own a lot of platforms. While I do think consoles are lesser computers (it is obvious they can't do everything a pc or mac could accomplish) they are effective at doing what they are intended to do. I own a few of them with quite a library of games for each, so to say I dislike them would be incorrect. Some games I personally feel are just better on a particular system given the intended controls you use with them. I personally don't like button mashing arcade games on a PC that has so many buttons with a limiter on how many you can have held down at any one time. On that same note, I don't like games where precision and reaction time together are needed on a console since a gamepad just doesn't have that right amount of control for me.
Hahaha, it's been a long time I didn't see such a post-justification (pretty poor) based on an obviously unexpected result. xD
