Yep. Gonna have to find a fix (online), if there is one.

There's one, and it can be found searching this forum.

Just to reiterate what Dario posted above, here's another way to get higher resolutions using *Downsampling Method. Basically this feature enables resolutions higher than what your monitor (1080p default) can do and also for people who cannot afford high-end resolution monitors. I usually run my games in 2560x1440 using 1 Nvidia GTX 470 OC, 64bit OS, 7GB RAM. You can test resolution(s) even higher, but keep in mind your PC video card and monitors' hertz threshold.

*Just read the thread carefully and you should have no problems. Some games you may have to tic Full Screen instead of Aspect Ratio in the "Display/Scaling Mode" tab if your title screen to your game seems out of alignment/ajar.

I'm providing this link as a means of assistance and not advertising. I can verify that this technique DOES work and DOES provide a noticeable improvement in image/graphic fidelity. Link also includes how to do this for AMD/Radeon video cards as well. I've been using it for a few years now.

This methos works great in games like Darksiders 2, Castlevania LoS 1&2, Skyrim, Sniper Elite V2, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, RAGE, Borderlands 2, State of Decay. Even other non-Steam games as well. Some game(s) you may have to manually adjust V-Synce On or Off in the panel. Be mindful of your CPU temperatures. I use MSI Afterburner for fan control to make sure my CPU fan(s) stay at normal cooling range, 60-70degrees.

You can also use Flawless Widescreen to support other resolutions; I've been using it to run @ 2560x1080 without issues.

they still haven't fix this yet?
I skip this game on release because it didn't support my monitor's native resolution(1440P) and I will not buy it until they patch the resolution cap.

I can't even get 1080 to work properly, it's scaling the image down for some weird reason.

Better off just playing it on console or avoiding it if you want higher than 1080p. Some of the assets might have been developed with high resolutions in mind but i doubt they have an interest in hitting 1440p natively, after all it was a pretty rough console port. Konami isn't known for their PC development.

Flawless Widescreen to the rescue again!

Guys, if you don't know about Flawless Widescreen... and you have a 2560x1080 monitor like mine... you need to run... do not walk... to the Flawless Widscreen website and download their incredible program. So many non-widscreen games are fixed by this program.

When I saw this thread, I thought, oh for the love of pete, not this again. Then I saw Quidam's post, and cheered.

Yup, Metal Gear Rising is supported in Flawless Widescreen. I'm looking at it right now.

Excuse me while I go purchase this game.

?

It doesn't run at 1080p on consoles.

The textures are certainly higher than consoles -- it may not be very impressive for PC standards, but believe me those aren't the same texture on Ps3.

Oh I know that, I have the PS3 version that runs at 720p. I'm just saying that it was developed with PS3 in mind and then ported later. Console ports to PC are usually sub-par unless done by a company with extensive PC experience. You just get the benefit of higher resolutions (usually up to 1080p and only 16:9) and higher framerates. Both Dark Souls I and II on PC are a great example of this.

Flawless Widescreen works wonders for me though.
Bender Jun 23, 2014 @ 9:22am
It only does 16:9 for my resolution.. I need 16:10..
1680x1050
Quidam Phoenix Jun 23, 2014 @ 8:29pm
You'll probably have to play in 16:9 and deal with the letterboxing, a lot of games have 16:10 issues and i don't know of any fixes for it. Can always try flawless widescreen to see if it helps but I haven't tried.
