I'd probably choose a Challenger 440 six pack or something. Heavy steel car with a hemi.

There's a guy in my town that has a Mad-Max esque 3rd gen Camaro. It's pretty sweet. Has the upswept side exit exhaust just like the Interceptor, a very 70's raked stance with some massive BF Goodrich all-terrains in the back and a bunch of random other things. I see it quite a bit (live in a pretty small town), so I'll grab a picture next time I come across it.

If you want a Mad Max Interceptor there is a company on the internet (forgot the name) that will make it for you for $100,000. It's not that expensive in my opinion.

Are you talking about building a replica Interceptor, or just a general salvaged-looking car? If it's the latter, the style is called 'rat rod' and your best bet is finding an old frame on Craigslist or something. It helps if you live in the southern U.S. since you'll find a lot of old car frames that have been sitting in a field for years.

Just to warn you, it's a lot of work. I wouldn't go into building one without a garage and a proper tool collection. If I ever did a build, I'd start with something like this. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/cto/5197687506.html

No, in the states, sadly.

While the replica would be awsome, I'm just going to do a savage. be too much heartache to try and replicate it exactly. After all, Max's car got outperformed by some of the other wastelander cars.

WelderUp makes some awesome RatRods, they are in Las Vegas, many resemble the style of the Mad Max cars although it is unrelated in every way other than that.

71 Buick Skylark, I had one were it was all black, with a GS fin on the trunk and a 76 camaro trunk fin on the roof for the heck of it, to see how it works. Looked good too. I get another 71 skylark I'll do it again except this time swap the buick eng and auto trans for a chevy and a gear box trans...

How ever if I had the $150,000.00 maybe I can just order it from Australia.. :steammocking:

Anyone can afford that. :p

I was reading the Falcon XB's are getting hard to find anymore, a lot of movie recreation cars out there and there wasn't huge numbers made in production anyway.

Not me!
I already have plans drawn out and am going to be "Mad Maxing" a 1970s Mercedes Diesel stationwagon with things like a turbo, extra lights, an external wrap around rollcage, big-rig side exhausts with smokers on it to p.o. hybrid car drivers, stacked bumpers, flip down metal cage protected windows, metal skulls everywhere, put some more aggressive tires on it, and raise it a few inches... And then use it as an everyday car. Sadly I can't put spikes on it for legal reasons... But if law and order ever break down, I got scrap and welding equipment in my garage.

Depending how that comes out, and costs, I may do the same to a late 60s Cadillac hearse I want to get, only with a twin turbo performance diesel in it for racing, eventually.

The reason for diesel is it is more efficient and cheaper in the US than regular gas, diesel engines also last longer with less maintenance than a gas engine, and I could convert a diesel engine to easily run off everything from used motor oil to vegetable oil, so it will be more than just a show car and could actually survive an apocalypse or Los Angeles traffic.

True, but can make a supplemental car, it will look good. So far in the states my 71 Buick Skylark looked good for what I did..

How ever the best supplemental cars that would be ideal is the 1970's Ford Mustangs. Between the 71 fast back (I think this is the US version of the XB) to the 79 Ford Corbra. and mid 80's Mustanges the ones with the rear dech lid, not hatch back, make some really nice supplemental cars to get. Maybe the mad max car kit would even fit them..
