i will have to go with no for now. even though you can change the light color for pack-beasts and the like, there is no option in other categories to add the data.
The former is easy, just like what you've seen done in those light color mod.
The latter require some tinkering. The workaround that I've found is to duplicate a furniture with light properties (campfire for example) and change everything in the duplicate to be the same as whatever furniture you want to have that light property.
As an example if you want the throne or a chair to give light, just copy everything (within reason) from that piece of furniture into your campfire duplicate. Do it manually. Just leave "lights" (1 | campfire light) alone or customize a duplicate of it if you know what you're doing.
If you're talking about making an item or armor piece give off light like lantern of radiance, I have never tried that before. My suggestion is to look into lantern of radiance and study it.
Those light source items are referenced by the "parts" of light armature items under Furniture.
For instance: Furniture - Ceiling Lamp - parts - lights - indoor_lamp_light
For example the overall consensus among modders is that it is impossible for player faction to own slaves. For years everyone is saying it can't be done. But one of the modders, stilldoll has proven everyone wrong. It can be done. But I couldn't imagine how long it took him to figure out how to make it work.
It may not be impossible but it may also not be easy. You'll never know if you don't try. Whether or not it is worth it is another matter. The least you can do is learn from the experience. :D
probably this one: Building - Lights - portable lantern
Another way to find it is open a backpack and in the drop down choose physics attachments and add a lantern, then replace with copy etc.
I've made alot of different lights for buildings/bags/beltslots and the variety you can achieve is nice, there are even things like pulse and shimmer that will affect the flow of light.
Happy to help if you get stuck~
I renamed it and changed the value to my liking, now, how do I actually get it in the game? Since I didn't tinker with anything but the light value, will the new item automatically be sold by hive merchants that sell the lantern of radiance aswell?
With belt attachment lanterns though i've never been able to have them appear on a character with a game start.
If your testing it with an existing game you should import to test it or the item may likely not show up at the shop you wanted.
I've seen other postings of people having mods not show up and the answer is usually the mod or game being saved in the wrong place, i guess? good luck~
