Launcher crashes upon clicking 'Mods' tab
When the launcher opens, there are 3 tabs. When clicking the 'Mods' tab in particular, the launcher crashes whether I have any mods or not. I tried verifying game files, restarting Steam, and restarting my computer.
Any ideas? Thanks

Delete everything in the mod folder of kenshi (make backup first)

the only thing in the mods folder is readme.txt and removing that does't change anything. Launcher still crashes when I click the Mods tab.
Like I said, this happens regardless of whether any mods are installed

I also tried moving the Kenshi install to another drive and that didn't help either.

Seems like a good time to remove kenshi folder manually and then reinstall it. Make backup of your save first.

Reinstalling Kenshi from scratch doesn't help either.
I've also tried running as administrator but that didn't fix it.
There is another report on this.
My computer died so I can't link it, but try some of the options mentioned in it.

Try installing everything in the "dependencies" folder.

And this crash doesn't give any error messages? Can you post your Kenshi_info.log and Kenshi.log files?

Those two start recording when the launcher is started, so they may have info on the crash.

I have tried searching for this but haven't found the same issue. Searching for 'Mods' and 'crash' obviously link a lot of mod-related crashes, which this is not. If you could link it that would be great. Thanks

Welp, nothing of note there. Compared against my own logs, virtually identical. :/

Have you checked the permissions of the Kenshi folders? Notably I would check "mods.cfg" and "__mods.list" in the data folder, since they are directly part of what is shown on that tab. I could see it crashing if it lacks the permission to read/write such a file.

Probably not the problem, since you said you ran it as admin, and moving the installation didn't help, but it doesn't hurt to look.

I tried manually setting permissions for those files, still crashing. I even tried running Steam as administrator and running Kenshi from there, but nope.
Oh well, thanks for your help anyway. If I figure this out I'll post back here.
Game won't launch.
