This hickup ingame seems to ahve something to do with the update today. It should get sorted out soon. Just change everything back to how you had it, then import your game file. you should be fine. ut if theres still a problem, then follow the bug reporting directions to get proper help.

it was from the Dev he forgot the settings from the Tokyo game show and included it by accident into the patch.

I was about to suggest amnesia or ghosts but heh i guess a bug could explain it too, boring but an explanation if you like.
Personallly i would have used this blatantly obvious opportunity to send him to a psychologist for a wind up but hey miss out why don't you.

Lmao, no dude, it's just the newest patch that resets some settings and defaults to Japanese, maybe it was the build they used for the stream for that tokyo event a while back.

Japanese translation update may have caused an issue.

Edit: There is a scroll tab in the launcher to select your language and it fixed this problem.

The Japanese translation update may have caused a small issue with the start up "Pop Up".
I don't know what the proper name is for that pop up, but it is now partly in Japanese.

config f***d up

the 99.3 update on exp branch (which somehow it installed without me getting anything in the downloads tab (!) borked my whole config: graphics, keybinds, launcher settings etc..

i spent months finetuning my graphics settings to the game would run as high FPS as possible while still looking decent. sadly i couldn't remember all the settings. now i have to experiment all over again!


MY QUESTION:

what files exactly do i need to backup to avoid this in the future?!

Those opting into the Experimental build should expect issues from time to time. The devs are human and make mistakes. These kinds of bugs are the reason there are two builds.

My guess is they had a build they used for the Tokyo Game Show, and as part of it they purposely had the config files in there to allow it to be ported over to multiple systems with ease.

After the TGS, they likely forgot about those files. And they would not be readily apparent in testing, since the devs had set their game up that way intentionally.

I'm sure it will be fixed soon. In the meantime, it's not hard to change your settings back to however you want.

Shidan like my type I can accept the pitfalls that comes with EA games - 'accidently leaving a few files' for example. Before this there already exist 2 mods in my launcher that was not mine.No complaints about that either . This game is work still in progress. What is questionable is that the upload altered my game & left a foreign auto save in my computer. The second upload .99.3 caused my anti virus /firewall to kick in. Had to disable them to allow it to continue. Bugs/quirks galore should not be having the above effects on my system.

Sure it is not hard to get back the previous settings .However some settings I got by trial & error.To repeat the same process is time consuming & annoying. Right now ny mouse does not function. Have to use WASD keys to move around the map. Cannot play this game currently. If this is out of my own doing no problems there. However it is not. Forgetfullnes is not an excuse for their professionalism. I agree that it will be fixed as usual. At least as another person typed now Hivers can wear shirts yayyyyy.
