I recall a bug not long ago with caracters who had severly crippled limbs. The limbs would decay which wouldent be fatal in itself but it caused some bloodloss decay as well and banadging wasent avalible. I belive after the above mentioned troubleshooting steps it worked itself out and i was able to treat them.
On a side note, and ill lead off by saying this isnt helpfull information at all, ... It honestly dosent look like your too far into the game and that caracter certanly dosent have barely anything in the way of stats. It may sound callous but never get too attached to the green faces untill they've proven themselves usefull. And seeing as hes face down in the dirt, if he cant be saved he isnt worthy of your cause.
All that being said I wouldent worry too much, currently you cannot die from limb damage. only Head, chest stomach and bloodloss will render a caracter dead. Unless im mistaken youve got until -100 blood to prevent his death.

but you didn't right click to try and see if the popup contained first aid.

Never had to use a splint kit in all my gameplay yet as I don't think I ever got that much damage.
Fingers crossed he makes a full recover as I get attached to my squad members ;o)
EDIT:- Oh, and I always assign MEDIC to all my squad members as soon as I aquire them. Makes them heal first before doing anything else after a fight ;o)
:O i never thought about that, but ive long since forgotten how the damaged meters work exactly. It makes sense that you cant first aid blunt damage, but could splint it (or is that exactly how it works? Splint for blunt, first aid for cuts?)
Thats not what splints do. Splints restore partial functionality to crippled limbs.
It is a bug. The caracter isnt dieing from the leg wound, hes bleeding out albiet slowly. Bleeding IS bandagable but as i said eairelr i have seen this myself where severely cripplied limbs coinside with untreatable bleading

I agree - dude is dying because of blood loss, but you can't medic the type of damage shown. Maybe a bug in whatever caused the blood loss, but not a bug in the inability to medic.
I'm not sure I'd call it a bug, as the two systems are working as intended. But I'm also not sure it was fully considered how they would function in tandem like this. I suppose a simple fix would be to have blunt damage not cause the bloodloss when below a certain HP. Though I'm not sure what other balance issues it might open up. :/
