Kenshi
Global population multiplier?
Figured might as well ask here instead of trying to dig out the information myself. In my defense, this allows for increased Kenshi time-allowance ;)

What does this variable affect, exactly, especially compared to squad size multiplier? The latter seems pretty straightforward - the higher value, the more individuals in each group.

Am I correct in assuming increasing "global population multiplier" value will increase the number of distinct characters in the "world?"

In case of bandits, does this result in increased number of bandit groups roaming about? Or is the effect strictly limited to settlements and "squads" originating from them?

Also, speaking of bandits, what's the spawn mechanics? I assume they do not have camps they originate from? If so, would be nice to know some details on what conditions create the groups.

I turned my multiplier up earlier and noticed a bit more groups roaming about.

I misread Multiplier as Multiplayer. I came in here expecting to get to smack someone into the ground with a big fat no. I was disappointed.

Wait, there's no multiplayer planned?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO-

*pause for breath*

-OOOOOOOOOOOO!

Also, thanks for the replies. Guess I'll toy around with the settings to fit my preferences now that I actually understand what they do ;)

initial thought:

squad size multiplier:
  • increase to the number of individuals in each roaming group ("squad") that exists or is created by towns/bases on the map?

global population multiplier:
  • increase to the number of individuals in total on the map for each town/base?
  • increase to the total number of individuals on the map, per town/base, and/or "squad", at the start of the game ?

any info would be appreciated.

I will try my best to test and post back here.

But.. It doesn't effect your own squad for the squad size multiplier, does it? That's what I've been wondering. XD (Since someone has this posted, I'll use this to ask my question and not make a new thread :D)

No, you'll still have the same number of squaddies regardless of where you set your multiplier.

Awweh. That makes me sad XD

I think that multi-threading will have to be implemented before we'll get the ability to control more than 20 troops, but that day is marching ever closer. Epic battles ftw.

the new GUI and multietreading will have to be added before squad sizes can go past 20.

i look forward to having a army in my base that belongs to me, then i can max out the squad limit and really get the game rolling!
