there is no news because they are trying to not hype the game, to much hype can be very bad. information will start coming out once they are closer to actual release into Beta testing stage.
also not good to read to much into article's like that, the engine will have had year's more work done to it by the time the game actually comes out.
no. there is no determined date. that date comes from a Dev saying he would eat his hat if it didn't release until then.
a much better engine then some, but yes it is.
also much better then Unity and its cash crab against developers.
not fully. they still have the new pay rates. granted they are smaller then originally planed, but they are still there.
UE5 is the best engine overall in general terms right now without talking about niche or specific cases. It does have problems of course because no perfect engine exists but most of the problems come from two reasons.
First is because most games that came out on UE5 so far have been made with the earlier broken or incomplete versions of UE5 that were basically tech preview at that point.
Second reason is because engine is a tool and how well it is used or how bad depends on the user. Game studios are just not willing to put in the hours to optimise their games prior to launch. This problem has been ongoing for 20 years now.
We're not devs, we're just moderators. We have virtually no involvement when it actually comes to the game's development.
But the devs have been open about their design philosophy for Kenshi 2. The idea is that it will be Kenshi, but in a better and more stable engine, and with new features they originally had wanted to do with Kenshi 1 but couldn't due to time restraints, engine limitations, etc.
Bethesda's engines aren't always the most stable. Plus, that's an ongoing in-house project that's been going for ages from a company that isn't exactly tiny. Props for being very moddable though.
