Actually was able to figure out screenshots turns out I needed steam overlay enabled.

If I had mods that added them they would be for sale at the nomad village and nomad caravans among others would have them. These mystery cage beasts just randomly spawn standing perfectly still in random areas and don't exist anywhere else in the game world.
importing your game is about the only option after disabling said mod(s).
Edit, you might want to try verifying your games cache as well.
It's not a problem it's just been creeping me out how they can spawn like this and how they have seemed to follow me around at times spawning in the distance and just standing there like slenderman. I've shot them dead and had them respawn and continue to stand there looking at me in the distance. If somebody did this as a joke they are a genius actually and I'm tickled that the tame beasties mod worked on this phantom. Until I found that reddit post above I thought I was losing my mind but I'll just not question it since it doesn't hurt anything. There's a old bible saying "I am that I am" and this cage beast is that he is lol
