what does import game do?
I'm trying to take my squad from my current game and start a new game to mess around with a few other things.

I clicked the import and just loaded my old game like normal, nothing was different, I then clicked reset squads or something like that and it just moved me it seems.

How can i take my current team and do a fresh start with our current gear and skills?

That's what import is for. But you need to have the right options selected.

If you have the import relations, buildings, research and dead NPC options selected it will look essentially like you simple loaded the game (though this is an illusion, it respawned the whole world and just imported those things on top of it).

Uncheck all those options however and you'll have the new game+ style experience you're looking for. The only thing you'd have is your characters, their skills, and anything they were carrying.

Import is meant for you to keep playing your old saves on newer versions, new mods etc, it's not meant for you to star a new game with an existing squad, though I guess you could just untick the options for importing buildings and dead npcs and it would do somewhat what you're trying to do.

It does, but the seed that generates them does not change, so it will always be the same characters unless the possible characters have changed.

For example, recruiting a unique character that can spawn in that location will usually shuffle the bar recruits after import. As that character cannot be spawned again, forcing it to regenerate differently that time.

for unique character, is the seed fix for each game ? like dr chung in wiki state it have 50/50 gender , so if male , it will stay male ? , even
1. i recruit Unique
2. import again for generic to spawn
3, dismiss Unique
4. import again for unique to spawn

the point is
if i want a female dr chung, i start a new game ?

Not sure why the wiki would say that. Doctor Chung is a 100% chance male character, so there will never be a female one without mods.

In answer to your question though, dismissing them would reset the spawns back to how they were before you recruited him. You'd need to recruit a unique that is not the one you are trying to re-roll, so that they could spawn again.

so had try and the 30% gender is for each new game, conclude that import wont change the gender.
