Limb Loss
Have they released any details on how this will work yet? I'm hoping it works like dying does (head, stomach, or chest get to -xx) and isn't just random. That's one thing I found really annoying in Rimworld, when one of my guys gets shot once for relatively low damage but... Oops, his leg's off. Thanks, RNG.

I did notice that a -100 or more limb has the description "This limb is completely destroyed" currently, so I'm hoping this is the case?

LOL rim world is more of a rim job for your black hole between the twin moons. LOL when you get everything up and running good it mess you up good. I watch so many of my settlement fall do to a solar storm and raid. Then some the moods swing kicks in and just down hill from there.

Also long we can replace limbs and make them at bases I'm all for it. One thing I hate about villina rim world no more making good replacement limbs

I'm curious if you can replace a healthy limb with a robot one or if it only works with missing ones.

Sure it involves losing a perfectly healthy functional arm/leg but I'm curious if it will be an option.

mood swings kill rim world.... that plagues that game throughout the entire game, from start to finish your worst enemy is your colonists turning emo!

cant wait for prospehtics and limb loss in kenshi though lol (and blood)
will be awesome seeing your seasoned vets have the tell tale signs of past major battles in that they lost a limb, maybe had it replaced with a robot arm, robot arm more durable but require robot repairs, maybe if you get one the holy nation will want to chop it off you for being a robot part lol upgradable robot parts be cool, first it can start off like a useless replacement then upgrade with gears or whatever to make it functional and agile and more durable, maybe make it like guts arm with a crossbow mounted to the arm lol and a wrist cannon!

Limb loss and replacement with 'robotic' limbs is something very interesting for Kenshi lore wise... What if you are in Holy Nation, can't replace that arm with a robotic one, how long to you become a skeleton? Best to purge you before it gets out of hand!

If a limb is removed, must it be replaced? One armed swordsman possible?

A very nice feature which I hope isn't just tacked on the end for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles but is actually fleshed out.

i hope there is other types of replacements besides robotics. like way less functional peg legs and hooks for hands.

someone said something interesting on REDDIT, it would be cool if you could upgrade your skellies with new limb parts.

It was my understanding that once a limb goes below a certain threshold, then it's "lost". We already have the tooltip in game, that will say "you lost your arm", but it's not working (the arm will "regrow").

What talk about Emo in Rim World. One unhappy colonist can rune your base. Sure his pet died I forget he was the butcher and only one with a gun. he so unhappy guns down most my colony then sets it on fire which was made of wood at the time. What else Raider show up. Last guy standing that Emotion reck defend the base. Oh! wait the roof fell on him!!!!

oh god.... fire.... dont get me started on how every colonist you get now seems to have a 90% chance of having the arsonist trait!

the fires never end.... they set fires all the time.... you end up having to purge all the arsonists because they none stop set everything on fire. then your people go mad and start killing everyone else due to having killed a colonist and seen a dead body.

On the topic of the OP, the changelog was just released today. Here's the bit about limb loss.

-BLOOMIN' ROBOT LIMBS!
-when a limb goes below -100 damage, that limb gets amputated
-lost legs means you have to crawl on the floor
-Legs damaged past your KO point also makes you crawl on the floor, until they are bandaged.
-robot limbs can be added or removed at a Skeleton Bed
-robot limbs will affect your stats in various ways
-If you are crawling around on the floor you can still fight really badly as long as you have at least 1 arm.
-Your amputated limb goes flying through the air. Dogs will run off with it.
-Limb loss can be reduced or disabled in the options

Lopped-off limbs should be a blunt weapon that you can pick up and beat people with.

I think I read something about cannibals and fogmen removing limbs and eating them one at a time while the prisoner is still alive, too. So that's macabre, but awesome.

^^ aye they already tie you up and eat you, but because limb loss isnt in as they eat your parts just drop to -100 gradually while they eat you part by part. adding limb loss will make that look awesome....and blood... they are adding blood soon too lol that will be epic!

Its been confirmed a few times, if any limb reaches -100 (or what ever would be the negative of the max health of that body part) limbs will become detached
