are walls still breakable and if so, why?
i find it weird how if you make a base designed to kill attackers at the gate, they just smash down 1 of your walls and completly ignore your main gate, but last i checked i cant march my squads over to the holy nation and 3 shot their walls.. its a AI only for some reason.. is it too late to edit the game so walls are unbreakable again? the game was so much more fun back then, watching squad after squad get pelted with arrows and harpoons.. i miss that

never had my walls being broken

last game i played i built a base and they destroyed my walls rather than face my gate and armies, if i closed my gate they wouldnt try to break the door down, just any wall will do for them.. iv started a new game and got a new base in a new location but i dont want to close my gate since im expecting them to go through my walls if i do
they break thru my gates instead of my walls, they have never broken my walls. even when i was popping them from my walls with my turrets.
granted just because i have never experienced the issue doesnt mean its not possible.

Did you perhaps have multiple gates Kermit? If so, that could explain it. As they are set to attack the walls if they cannot reach the gate, so if they were targeting a gate on the other side of the locked one, they could see that as unreachable and break the walls.

1 gate for that base, id say the nearby water the wall went through messed upj the pathing but they could just as easily walked around it to get to the gate..

It's impossible to say for certain. But any case of a wall being attacked when the gate is there is a bug, and should be reported with a save upload.

Wall breaking is not meant for normal gameplay, it's only supposed to be used when there is absolutely no alternative. But sometimes, it screws up and needs a bit of kick by the devs to get its act together. :)

I noticed sometime if your Gate are not on a flat and even surface with walls too narrow for a kill gate, it can affect pathing. As some NPCs and my own squadmate gets stuck in the middle of the gate and some enemy NPC begin attack the walls instead.

I fired up the game for the first time in months last night (to make a quick QoL mod for someone), despite hoping the devs would add the ability to import prisoners....no such luck so I imported my first ever playthrough.

Anyway, I digress.....

I noticed a couple of raptors pecking at the wall directly adjoined to the front gate which was open which was weird as they could literally see through the open door they were that close.

Also weird I thought, as the other raptors in the group had gone through said gate & were swiftly slain by my turret guys.

Then I noticed my inner gate was closed (import had closed both & I later realised they had broken down the first gate!!), as soon as I unlocked/opened this inner gate the raptors ceased & went through the first gate....and died lol ;o)

Wish I'd known that... I had a holy siege (love killing those guys) who seem to totally bug out on my walls. If i close my gate they run away instead of attack... and if i ignore the gate for too long while someone is posted on a mounted turret they seem to break the wall out from under the turret (seen this happen both when the gate is open and when closed, there is a clear path through the gate and a ramp on the inside to get up onto the wall). It's only happened a few times though.

All other enemies (including river raptors) seem to attack the gate correctly... or run through and up onto the walls if i have anyone posted.
