Why no square tent?

You see them everywhere on NPC buildings, but why are players unable to build the simple square tents that usually sit on the roof of buildings?

I've been using the Flat Shelter in their place, but these are often too large, or simply don't fit well into the design of the roof, and am curious as to why the simple square tent is not buildable?

hmm i'm not sure about vanilla but when using shidans interior/exterior (a must for base building) i can place tons of different tents and stuff..

Yes, I enable those "Square Tents" with the mod. And also set them up to count as "Shelter" just like the vanilla tents. :)
