Updated Roadmap
Kenshi has now left Early Access and is fully released.

What does this mean for Kenshi’s future? It means that there will be no new features added, Kenshi is feature complete, but we will be continuing to fix all crashes and bugs reported to us. Localisations (in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese) have all been finished and are in game, however we have been noticing a couple of small issues popping up since release, so we will continue to refine these.

BUGS & CRASHES
Right now we are working hard on bug fixes – We understand crashes and bugs can be frustrating, you can report all instances in our Steam or Lo-Fi forums and we’ll look into it asap.

LOCALISATION
We’ve had a few issues reported including some missing strings which didn’t export and text not fitting in GUI buttons. We’re on it and should have an update out within the week. We also had reports from Japanese players that the translation is inaccurate and… not so good. So we have employed an experienced video game proofreader to refine this. You should see gradual improvement patches for Japanese over the next few months, we aim to be finished with all edits by March 2019. We welcome any feedback from all non-English speaking players!

LUXURY FEATURES
We’ve seen some confusion amongst the community about luxury features and optimisation upgrades coming. Just to clarify, we will not be adding any more features or engine changes to Kenshi. Fortunately we were able to add a few luxury features before release including crawling combat, unarmed combat, dismemberment, blood and ranged combat. However no more luxury features will be being added.

Only for singular stacks. For example, if you have 9 pieces of meat and one piece of meat in a separate stack, SHIFT-RC only moves one of the stacks. What Cyrus is suggesting is a shortcut to dump ever stack of an item in your inventory at once, like in games like Factorio or Dyson Sphere Project.

Control + Shift + Click move all stacks of that item, in and out of you character.

I have a problem, i already captured the dust king but the bandit demands keep showing up, now every 1 day and 20 hours, i am able to defeat them when my main character is in the base but i will be travelling and my workers do not stand a chance.
I do not know if is a bug that they show up that often, they used to take more days before when dust king was still there, i collected his reward from united cities, he is probably working as a slave somewhere. For now i will get 2 skeleton followers, put them in a tower next to the entrance and make them protect it, i just have to find those skeletons, i already know about one at black desert city.

To stop the demands you have to kill the Dust King, not just capture him. It's one of the few exceptions to the norm.

Just check out the zomboid update today and they are doing something i hope KENSHI does with its sequel "We’ve got a LOT of NPC code, lots of cool systems, from Rimworld style priority and jobs system, personality systems, procedural story event systems, combat systems, autonomous survival behaviours, advanced group behaviour systems, vehicle driving systems, and a whole bunch more. While nothing could be described as 100% complete, the vast majority of the hard work has been done, is functional and is extremely cool."

What ever happened to Kenshi 2 anyway? I mean, you said this was 2018 when you stopped addin' features, but we're still getting things like distant cities in 2021, are you sure your not just reusing the same post for everything errantly?

Kenshi 2 is still being worked on.
they are doing it different then the first game.
we will not get access until they think its ready to enter Beta stage.
so it could be 2 to 4 more years away before we gain access.

Distant cities doesnt add a strain to the games engine.

Distant Towns was a new system added last year. Basically it allows the game to generate a really low res version of the town from far away, so that you can see them way on the horizon and to minimize the pop-in feeling they used to have.

Small question about different topic. Do you know if towns and NPCs will be more lively in Kenshi 2? It's sad to see how empty towns are and only unique recruits and special NPCs like faction leaders have dialogue. Outpost feels lifeless when those generic recruits don't have any dialogue and are just working like a robots.

It only strains the engine when it's something they don't feel like doing.
