Deleted all my old saves, so can't be anything there...
But after quitting and restarting the game, and selecting new game from the main menu (with no saved games available) the storm house in the hub which I bought and rebuilt last time (and was planning on making my base this time) was already rebuilt and not for sale.
I'm stumped. Can't figure out how to force it to reset to new game condition.
...I'm not imagining this, am I? The storm house in Hub really was ruins last game, pretty sure - certain I bought it and made a home there!
This bugs me - it's the largest house in Hub, and only one of it's kind available, which is why I bought it the first time. If anyone else has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Think I'll try saving this guy at game start and importing with various options to see if anything changes, though to be honest I did that already with some of the other saves with no effect, so not really hopeful.
edit: nope, nothing. I'm almost frustrated enough to uninstall/reinstall, except I'm at work and don't want to do that without my home connection. Seems a little extreme, but I really want a fresh start for certain, and the presence of the building makes me wonder what else got carried over.
...just to be clear, you're saying the buildings in the hub are not always destroyed on game start? Thought that was one of the constants, that all the buildings were destroyed and the player could buy most of them and rebuild the hub if they chose....
posted after a quick read, my intervention is irrelevant.
this is a common issue if you start a new game while playing a old save.
the import will remove all owned buildings.
it is recommended that you start a new game from the main game menu. not while in the game as the game doesnt unload all the data.
Something else a little odd, to me - it's day 10 and I haven't seen any bandits. No hungry ones, no dust, not even an animal attack. true, I've been staying close to the Hub, mining and training up my new recruits, but in previous games by now some hungry bandits would have shown up (if nothing else, I could have looted the bodies for equipment). I know this is probably coincidence, but just seems odd... :)
If that fixes it, then you can try turning them on slowly, and figure out which one was causing the problem.
